Hi all, Managed to get out tonight for a gentle run. Only about 5.5 miles as I was time-limited but it was very cold. I enjoyed it though, once my legs got slightly warm. The pavements are now clear here but I believe more snow is forecast later in the week so I hope I'm not too badly affected.
Sally - Good on you for doing 10 miles in this weather!
Hypno - Sometimes life just doesn't make allowance does it?
Rich - It will take more than a bit of snow to stop you won't it. Are you still wearing shorts?Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Hi Hayley,
I missed your post last night...nice to see you're still around - keep saving trust me those trainers will be well worth it:D
Happy running/walking!
thanks becky,
the walking is still going strong, case of having to. due to the weather i walked to work the last 2 days, which im sure is about 3 miles each way and as well as walking to work, the dog also got a couple of half hour walks as well. Whenever I walk, i picture myself running the routes once Ive started training properly.
anyway thanks for all your help. will come back soon:beer:0 -
Hi all, not posted for a couple of days, not been out for a run either so naughty me!
Weathers not been too bad down here, so I really had no excuse. Didn't really feel like it today either, but I made myself get out there, did 2 lots of 1.10 (ran into town to see missus on her lunch break, then ran home again)
So only done 2.20 miles so far this week, must get out there!Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

Hey all - hope all are well and not being affected by the bad weather too much. I have missed most of the snow - unfortunately was rushed into hospital on Friday (just as my sister was having her baby so I missed my neice being born) and was in theatre on Monday! Would rather have seen the snow! Put a bit of a dampener on my running/walking plans though!!!:hello:  Hoping to be down to Loan Only by Christmas:j Getting there! :T0

Hi Pepper. Hope you are ok after your emergency hospital visit. At least your enforced rest period means you can enjoy being an auntie to your new baby niece! The running/walking will wait for you, don't worry. Glad to hear you are ok.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Hi Pepper, hope you are recovering from your op. Will it put you out of action for long??
Congratulations on your neice, I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with her
I was up at 5am too Hypno but went back to bed after my OH left for work - I decided it was just tooooo early. I'm lucky I have the luxury of being on leave this week so have plenty of time for once.
The snow has cleared here, just a light drizzle this morning, so I'm going to head out after the rush hour traffic has cleared. I couldn't believe how busy the roads were on Tuesday despite the snow.
Happy running everyone.2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
Morning All,
Wow a bunch of late nighters on here eh?!?
Nice gentle runs are the way forward Chick - I'm glad you enjoyed it - hope you dont get too much more snow
Wow Hayley thats a lot of walking - I know I had to walk to work on Monday and was one of four people who made it into the office - no fair!
No worries Rahpael - everyone has days like that when they dont fancy it - as long as you get back on the running wagon - which you have done - we'll let you off
Sorry to hear about the operation Pepper - I hope you are fully recovered soon and resting easy for now and enjoying the new arrival (when they can bring it to you of course).
Ahhhh I want more snow Hypno - no fair
I went for a nice 4 mile fartlek session this morning since my 'track' is still out of action, 32 minutes and I didnt feel like I pushed myself at all - but I do feel like there's not much speed at the moment - all running from strength so I'm not how Saturdays 5k race is going to go - we'll see if I can beat my pb at least then I'll be happy - not sure how the two course compare though either!
Right better get on! Happy running all0 -
Week23
Mon2/2 Rest Day
Tues3/2 10K 54:11 (8:45/mile) (Pulse 92)
Weds4/2 14.0 Miles 2:02:07 (8:43/mile) (Pulse 76)
Thurs5/2 10K 54:02 (8:43/mile) (Pulse 80)
Today was planned as another 14 miler and a 10K - I decided to do the 10K first, being a bit unsure how the recovery from last night's 14 had bedded down.
So the 10K was fine and the pulse confirms that last night's reading was no fluke - which is great!:D
However, the chances of another run are starting to look bleak already - I went out on grey roads and came back on white ones, the snow is coming down heavily, landing and turning straight to ice with none of the roads gritted. It has been an amazing transformation in the last half hour!
I've also just realised that I haven't seen another runner since the race on Sunday - where are they all?:pGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
