Hi Sally - I've done that before - the first time hurts and then for some reason you keep knocking it - mine bleed rather nicely for a few days...then I made a conscious effort not to hit it for a while and it went away and has never happened again - I reckon when its cold or you're tired you can easily alter styles as your body compensates to draw power from elsewhere to propel you forward
10 miles is a good midweek run thoughHow long did it take by the way?

Sally - 10 miles is excellent!! Well done!
As for the running style - perhaps because you were going slowly, perhaps because you are tired? I find that if I am tired I don't pick my feet up as much, and sometimes "shuffle" which can lead to clipping of ankles etc.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
yeah was probably because I was going slow...must check official Garmin time was around 1.45 with stops for traffic lights etc in thatI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

That's good solid training, sallyx - 1:45 about right for 10 miles steady. good for you for going out and doing it! Well done, Sally.
What time did you go out? It must have been pretty cold if its anything like here - the temp plummets after 4pm because of the clear skies.
I wouldn't worry about the ankle clipping - you haven't done it before and probably wont again, it could just be a certain group of muscles being tighter than normal because of the cold.
And 1-45 is just fine, the slower the better within reason.:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Didn't head out till nearly 6pm Rich...dark, cold, snowy and icy...lovely. Need to plan a new route for my 14 miles on Sunday, am bored of running the same roads over and over again and hopefully I can go during the day when its light. Would also like it to be nice and flat
Fussy me, no never!

God I spend ages planning my routes on mapmyrun...I have about 5 or 6 at each distance (4,6,8,10 and 12 miles) so I can switch up a bit depending on what I want to do - I also try to make them intersect a bit so if its busy somewhere I can swtich onto a different route and I still know how far roughly I've done
