    Evening all.

Decided not to go to runclub tonight, having slipped on the ice this morning and this evening despite walking slowly and carefully. Just need to figure out what to have for dinner, then veg out on the sofa.

Hope anyone who ran today (or tried to) is ok.

It's cold here but all snow and ice has gone for the moment.....so I have just got in from work, will have a quick change and show my face to the children to remind them what I look like, and then will head out for a run........

Good for you Hypno. Do half a mile for me please :D

I work at London Bridge and had forgotten the local roads where I live wouldn't be clear like in the City  Didn't fancy a slow crawl through Tooting Common to get to the track either, especially once I fell over.

I'll go for a run along the river tomorrow lunchtime instead.

Hi there, No running for me today either. Or yesterday. :o DS's school was closed yesterday and footy training was off as pitches & running track were under a layer of snow (not half as bad as you had in the south but still a fair covering). Tonight it is very very cold, not that that would stop me running but I only came home from work at 7.30pm and (like Hypno) need to remind DS that I still live here ;) .

I'm not too worried though. A good rest will rebuild my muscles and I'm still well on track for my race so I'm trying not to get too obsessed.

    Hope everyone is feeling OK.

Hey Chick - no chance of me running today either - I was like Poor and thought - ooo I could go out later, but outside of central London (and Boris' road if you get Londonpaper) its sooo icy and dangerous...

You've been having a great running time anyway - when's your next race??

    6.5 miles :D 69 minutes :D nice and easy :D:D

The only thing is that my legs are cold........I think I might run in shorts as well as leggings - it was the cold legs that prevented me going any further. Cough was ok, feet we ok, but my legs were cold (and are freezing now I have stopped!!)

I have regulated my timings - my miles are nice and steady now - no longer to I run like crazy for two miles then die! Today my fastest mile was 10:33 and my slowest 10:49 so that is a whole lot more consistent, and my garmin tells me that this is becoming the norm now, so that feels quite good!

    Happy days :j

You're well up with the game, Chick, on both speed and distance so you can be quite relaxed even if you have to miss 2-3 days.

It doesn't matter much in the great scheme of things.

My 2nd run today was a blowout as well - the temperature plunged mid afternoon so all the roads and pavements are now covered in rutted ice which you just cant contemplate running on. Glad I got out this morning now!:D .

Tomorrow looks iffy too, but we'll see!

    Well done, Hypno.

Getting to the end feeling very comfortable is the only aim - so mission accomplished.

Isn't it an enjoyable way to run as well ?(that is if you ignore the cold legs, but hey it'll be Spring soon!:D ).

Oooo wel done Hypno - thats some good steady running :D

    Excellent news! :D:D

I often wear leggings and joggers on slow runs - but I do get cold - when me and Rich had to stop at 15.5 miles a few weeks ago - we had to get a taxi back because I was so cold straight away - opppps ;)
  • Hi, pop in and out occasionally to read up and was just wondering if anyone could tell me what 10k is in old money. Still saving up for some good trainers
