Oooh, it's quiet on here today isn't it? Is everyone out enjoying the snow? (except raphael who is snow free!!!)
Well, I did a steady 4 miles on the treadmill in a touch over 45 minutes so am pleased with that.
The only thing I'm finding is that my Nike+ records very different times/distances than the treadie; is that usual? For example, a Nike+ mile is a 1.18 treadie mile.
I'm going to stick with the Nike+ data even though it makes me look as though I am slower and running less distance than 2 weeks ago. Never mind I'll soon make it up - ha, ha another new challenge. Hope everyone is ok??2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -

Another good session Simply!
No idea about the gadgety differences, although one or two people have mentioned that Nike+ is inaccurate with its data!
As far as being quiet is concerned, its probably because all the noisy ones on here have rest days booked in for Mondays!:pGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Evening..No run for me today
like Becky said feel Like going out and trying to convince myself it would be ok but am not risking breaking my neck out there. Did do some hills though pulling DD up a snowy hill again and again...serious leg muscle burning
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

That was a bit spooky Rich!!!
I'm flitting between this thread and the 'old' running thread. After reading your comment about the Nike+ data on this thread the next post I read on the old thread was posted by Sally - she was commenting (not very positively) on her Nike+ and it's inaccuracy.
Looks like my attempt at being money saving was possibly a false economy. :mad:2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
Surely if it doesnt work you can take it back..?
Also maybe I'm thick, but I use mapmyrun.com to check distances and a stopwatch for my times - yes it may be 0.1 miles and 5 or so seconds out but its give you an idea of what you need to know - I'd like a garmin so I dont get lost on new routes but otherwise I cant see the point of all the gadgets (sorry gadget freaks I know I'm weird)...0 -
It seems to be working Becky but is recording different distances to the treadmill so I don't know if the treadie is inaccurate or the Nike+.
I've got some runs mapped out for when the snow clears so will check the Nike+ against these once I get outside. Because I've run on the treadie up until now I've got used to measuring what I do, hopefully once I've built up my running outside I'll have the confidence to go without the gadgets.
Aha, you've now given my an idea. I'll take my gadget on a walk around my longest planned route tomorrow and see what distance it measures.
See? You guys always have the answers lol2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
I've got to say that I'm the same as Becky - mapmyrun and a stopwatch does the job quite nicely.:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Stop it - people will start thinking we're the same person again...:p:D
Quick we have to find something to disagree on
Okay I know - I like custard (a lot) but I actually think rice pudding is better for run recovery0 -
Well I've just had rhubarb and custard (first time for as long as I can remember!) and it was yummy.
So you can have the rice pudding, I prefer custard!:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
