Hi there Becky, if it is any consolation after my Saturday run I felt stiff & achey. I had a strange feeling of being totally 'empty' if you know what I mean. When I got home I had the clumsiness thing and I couldn't speak properly. My mouth didn't seem to want to do what my brain was asking it to  . I had a Mars when I got in (OH kindly gave it to me :o ) and some soup and bread but I felt soooo tired. I had a little snooze in the afternoon but then I felt fine. We went out later and had a chinese. Feel great today. No aches or pains at all and another run in the bag. Happy days :D .

    Thanks Cheeky Chick ;)

I'm sure I'll be fine tomorrow - 3:10 is 30 mins on top of my longest run previously which was only set last week so I think my body is just adjusting to the new amount of time spent running...

Ooo just realised I've run longer than rich now :D

Wow, the great runs just keep coming!:D

A 1-47 half marathon! Thats a huge improvement and backs up the fast 8.5miles the other day. You haven't done any 'double digit' runs lately have you? And, if you haven't, that makes it even more impressive!:D

Nope, it's been ages actually...End of November was the last one, I think - 13.8 then...

Was impressed with how I went today...I held myself back a lot to make sure I got home, but in retrospect I could definitely have pushed harder for the last few miles (although I did do the last half mile at 6:30 for a laugh) - felt strong at the end of it, though, like I could go further - which has to be a good sign, right? :)

Have to say, I never really feel like eating after a long run (well, immediately after - I'm starving for choccy now :D), I do try and trick my body though, by eating soup - which it kinda thinks it drink, I guess - but then sneak some wholemeal bread into it while my body's not looking :)

Nice consistent work there, Raphael. You cant fail to improve your fitness if you carry on with the same approach, well done.

Idio - I thought that was the case, so that really is quite a performance yesterday. Be careful if the drugs testers come round!:p

Snow, snow everywhere....and loads more to come! Another adavantage of the north is that snow is much more fun when you have hills to play on .............skiing, toboganning, sliding down a hill on a tea tray etc etc.:p :p

Running in snow is a bit like running in mud, ie when it gets past a certain depth it is just a pain in the ar-$e and not enjoyable at all.

    Throw snowballs at them!:p :p

I would but I'm stuck in the office :(

Some of us dont get snow days - grrr no fair I live too close to the office really to claim a day off!
  • Well I had intended going to the gym after work as a x-training session, however I beached my car on the way to work.....

No choice but to walk home, 6 miles in very deep snow.

    Bloody good exercise mind
