Well I had intended going to the gym after work as a x-training session, however I beached my car on the way to work.....

No choice but to walk home, 6 miles in very deep snow.

    Bloody good exercise mind

Be careful Rusty in the snow!!
  • Oh well, I admit defeat. After a week of psyching (sp?) myself up to run outside I don't really fancy running in the snow on my first outing!!!

So it's back on the treadie for me this afternoon (going to aim for a relaxed 4 miles) and I'll try again tomorrow!

Does that officially make me a wimp? :o

    Yep, you and me both..

On one hand I quite fancy a good romp through the snow, on the other hand, it just doesn't seem worth the risk :)

No it doesnt - it makes you sensible :D

I'm happy its a rest day, but I would feel no guilt about scrapping sessions today - its not worth the slipping over and breaking something risk!
  • Thanks guys, it's nice and sunny (in between snow showers) and I was just sooooooo ready to get out there. I know it's the sensible thing to stick to indoors but I just felt that I was finding excuses not to do it.

    I don't feel so bad now :D

Rest assured, though, there aren't many days in the year when we'll let you use the weather as an excuse :D

    HAHAHA you meany Idio :D

Actually the best bit about running is - if you get into it - you find excuses to go, not to cancel - its very weird but you actually want to go - I've been out in torrential rain where I can hardly see and have been soaked the skin in 2 minutes and completed a 12 mile run :D
  • The funny thing is I keep looking out of the window trying to convince myself that it isn't too bad and that the roads are clearing. I just soooooo want to get out there, but it is snowing again so I know I'm just kidding myself.

Idio - I will be pleased to have you on my case should I show signs of wavering later. All hefty kicks to the b*m will be gratefully received!!! (as long as they are virtual kicks of course)

I'm off back to the orginal running thread to continue my catch up before hitting the treadie!! Back later :snow_laug

I was going to go for a run today, but I couldn't fit it in. I'm quite short of time today and really wanted to run (no snow here so no excuse) especially as I've had a bad day at work and would have enjoyed the pavement therapy :) I know what you mean about finding excuses to run :)
On the plus I had an email today confirming that I've been entered into the Half Marathon! They hadn't cashed my cheque so I was a little worried my form had been mislaid.
    Scary now it's real
