Jeez Hypno - on weekends I can been known to sleep till 2pm, go for a run, then go back to bed at 7pm
But then I am lazy to the extreme - my family and friends still cannot believe I run 40-50 miles a week0 -
2pm  flippin heck girl!!!!!
Wanna swap for a couple of weeksSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Nope not a chance
- I dont sleep well though so I need the weekends to catch up otherwise I wouldnt be able to get up on Monday mornings
The best things about being a runner:
1. it gives me an excuse to be lazy and stay in bed
2. it gives me an excuse to eat chocolate
3. even though I do the previous two I'm still the thinest (and fittest) I've been since I was 15!
4. I get a legal high every day (twice a day more often than not now)

I think everybody in London does - jeez the embankment was busy this morning :rolleyes:, maybe it just looked worse than usual because I was walking some of it0 -
Running is great, but i never see anybody else out and about on my runs. I think i saw 2 cars last night that was it. I probably wouldnt be able to cope with a lot of people around me as i find that when i have run in a group i push too hard at the start to stay with them and end up burn up and not getting a good time. So i guess that makes racing a bit of a problem for me!!!!Running Club5KM - 25:20(51.21%) 10KM - 53:40(50.26%)1/2 Marathon - 2.14.57(44.20%)Marathon 5:11:00 (40.78%)0

On the embankment everyone is running their own way anyway (switching bridges, other directions etc) - I dont really get tempted to push anymore (I used to), but now I can happily say to myself 'oh they are faster than me' or 'I could take them if I wanted to but I'm on an easy run'...
A lot of runners out at the moment seem to just be pushing all the time - its not a race its training - slow down! Ah well when they are tired on marathon day I'll be running past0 -

You're quite right JJ in that a lot of races are ruined by getting sucked into too fast a pace early on.
But you soon learn what works for you and having people around you will improve your times for exactly the same effort (due to drafting effects).
But certainly training is far better on empty roads/pavements where you can switch off and go with the flow!:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
