  • evening all, some excellent running being done tonight.
After having a few hours of rest after circuit training i felt that my knee was going to be ok. So i set out and it felt good, just a little bit achy around the stomach muscles. Having said that still managed 5km in 28.42so im very happy, i didnt want to push too hard and do another 5km lap. so i just stopped and streched off.

  • I've done completely poop with running in 2009, although a few people in my office have started running at lunchtime and as of next week, I'll be joining them for 3 runs a week (of just 2 miles a time for the first month or so).

A bit crap with sciatica at the moment probably not helped by being inactive and putting on some weight, so following docs' orders and having a short break from the walking I do (about an hour to and from work carrying a shoulder bag), ditching the bag, and sleeping with a pillow between my knees

bathgatebuyer - be careful with the sciatica - I tried to run with it once and it was tear-inducing! You will get back into it soon, do don't rush it!

Rich - sorry, just checked. The tickets are non-transferrable......but I did try for you.....honest!

Everyone has been doing sooo well! I have got a cold this morning, so hoping it doesn't travel to my chest.......I have got a run planned this evening, so will just take it easy and see how it goes.

  • Morning all.
Hypno hope the cold doesnt hold you back too much and you get a good run in tonight.
Day off for me, taking a well needed rest day, as iv managed to do 4 good training sessions in 2 days:-
    Monday - 2 x 2km at just under 10mins each
Tuesday - fit test level 8.6, then circuit training for an hour, then 5km in the evening at 28.42mins.
bathgatebuyer enjoy the running during lunch, it will make the food you eat after it taste a lot better.

    Morning All,

Well done on the run JJ (even if you shouldnt have but hey) :D

BGB - ouch that sounds painful :(

I slept late this morning by choice and so decided to go for a 6 miler instead of the 10 I had orginially planned - but unfortunately my body decided it had had enough this morning and I got cramp again so had to walk the rest of the way...

I'm not disappointed though it was only an easy run and obviously last weeks jump in mileage and yesterdays intervals sessions are having their effect.

Considering over October, Nov and December I ran about 130-140 miles a month and so far this month I've been able to push that up to 180 miles I must be doing something right (easing off on easy runs has been so beneficial :D)

    Happy running all!

These grey cold mornings don't help, though, do they? I sooo long for the lighter mornings - I am sure they will really help pick things up energy wise.

Even getting up at 7 would do me nicely, becky! we have 6am starts anyway - the children start school at 8 here so have to leave at 7.30, and I start work at 8 too. If I got up at 7 our house would be horrific as 5 of us run round getting breakfast, grabbing time in the bathrooms etc!!!!

Even at the weekend we have 6am starts at the latest because of the kids skiing/paper rounds etc.

So I am still envious of the 7am start!!

    :D
