Glad to hear you're easing off Raphael - dont push too hard to start with - gentle runs are just as beneficial
I just wanted to see if I could do it lol, I know that big jumps are a no-no. I'll do a couple of shorter runs, then stick the odd longer one in everynow and then

More worried about her getting hit by a car or so as she is all black.
Not many people around, just urban foxes..
my dog is black as well, the only problem is if i run her off the lead, she tries to bite my feet, so have to keep her on the lead and shes ok then:beer:0 -
Peeps with dogs - I'm sure there's a big thing growing up from America called caniX which is races with your dog...

Dont worry Hypno - go and enjoy your holiday - I'm sure Rich will say the same!
(I've never been skiing - seriously jealous)
Neither have I, I'm jealous too!:p
Even better idea - my marathon will have been done by then so to ensure you dont lose any training, and also make sure the tickets dont go to waste, I could go instead!

Evening all. I went to the track tonight. A bit pricey at £3.10 it was £2.90 in November!
The session was 12 x 400m with 100m recovery. No way was I going to do that as I'd cycled to and from work so was knackered anyway . I did 6 and felt pleased with myself for not keeling over :j I've now decided that I'm going to ease myself back into the Tuesday sessions, so next week I'll do 2/3 of the session going back to the full session the following week .
Just need to sign up for some races and I'll be ready
Dinner time now :T:T with half a Guinness as a treat :beer:The 365 Day 1p Challenge 2025. Member #420 -
Poor is this battersea track?? Jeez 12 x 400m - eeekss (I know thats my mile reps are but written like that its scary) - not surprised you only did 6 thats tough enough after cycling twice as well
Enjoy the guinness0 -
Hi Becky. Lovely to see you.
My club is at Tooting Common and there is a track there. Possibly not as nice as the one at Battersea but they did refurbish the weights room and the changing rooms so they are better than they were.
I've been meaning to find out but never got round to it: how many laps would I have to do to have one a mile? Maybe I shouldn't ask.....................:(The 365 Day 1p Challenge 2025. Member #420 -
Ahh I think I know where that is
4 x 400 m is 1600m = about a mile
Usual interval reps for speed work for marathon distance is 1 mile, but if you wanted to work on another distance in between the two marathons then you would do different reps (I think 800m reps are for 10k-10mile for instance). You usually have a rest between every mile for about a minute and run 3 lots to start with....
You dont have to do intervals on a 'track' though - I dont, there's a good spot on birdcage walk/st jame's park thats pretty good for them too
