    Hello!

Thought I'd post my first DFW RC Run!
Did my 4.56mile route this morning in 44mins (don't have a stopwatch yet - so it's not an accurate time)

First couple of miles are up hill - steady, then V.steep! I felt a bit slow and my hips and knee started aching after 3. (maybe cos I didn't stretch?! - I never do :o)

Anyway, the thought of you guys got me out of bed and into my gear - so thanks!
    Mac

Hi macgirl glad we were of assistance to you and got you out the door :D

By my calculations (or rather by Googling your distance and time) that's an average pace of around 09.38/mile. I wish I was that slow on hilly runs :rotfl:

I don't stretch before runs either - I think I read on here somewhere that it's not good to stretch cold muscles as it can cause injuries. It's better to start out slowly and let them warm up that way. Is that correct oh, expert ones??

    Hiya and thanks!

Yes, I read that somewhere too ...Luckily I always start slow :D

Just don't know if I should have stuck to 3 miles today as I haven't been out for 2 weeks following my flu....

I really want to go tomorrow too, as probably won't get out til next friday realistically, but a friend said you should always take it steady after a break and go every other day until you build it up again..?

I would guess the answer is "listen to your body" (If I did that - mine would always say "Stay in bed") :rotfl:

    Morning All

I was woken up at 5.45am by a snoring hubby, so went out for a 5 miler (did a detour looking at houses I can't afford!)

Glorious morning and was quite cool at that time.

Have a good day everyone and enjoy the sunshine - heard it's gonna be a long hot Summer (don't they save that every year?!)
