Wow, Simply!! The consistent training really is paying off - that's another couple of percent improvement on your age grading over a slightly longer distance which shows both your stamina and speed are improving.

I bet that has given you the appetite for more!!!:D

Well done on completing your first 10Ks, Pink and Jazzking.

Simply y- well done on the sub 60mins I am dead jealous..my knees are playing up again now. I think its the hills....cos the last time I did this run it affected my knees to.

Not sure about the towel, i just got me shiny medal this week. was supposed to get a t-shirt but the organisation wasn't up to much...

    How is Becky Rich?

No running for me today, just been walking on the beach but it's all exercise! I actually went to the gym yesterday but to be honest I was really struggling - not sure why! I felt extremely hot and bothered and I did 3 miles of the 5 I'd set out to do. So I decided to go on the stairmaster but my left knee was clicking so I gave it up as a bad job and thought I'd use the exercise bike instead. Knee still clicking away so I got a shower and headed home. The only good thing was jumping on the scales to find myself 5lbs lighter than 2 weeks ago so to celebrate me and OH went into town last night for a beer or 3 :p

So have planned to run 5.5 miles tomorrow after work outside instead!

Well I don't know what happened to the lack of appetite, but my fridge is certainly a lot emptier than it was on Friday night!:p:p

We can safely say that she's a lot better and well on the mend, and if the cause is as we suspect, she is likely to be bouncing back strongly very shortly. :D

Nice to see the rain has stopped - just going to see how Usain Bolt gets on in Manchester in 5 minutes time, then off out for a 21 miler.

Thanks Rich - I took your advice and ran down to the race. There was a bit of hanging around and we were late starting but I could feel that my legs settled in straight away. I kept it steady for the first lap and then gradually increased my speed, as recommended previously on this thread, and it really paid off. I'm thrilled with my progress to date and, yes, I have got an appetite for more!! :D

sammy - I'd rather have had a shiny medal, still I suppose my towel is 'useful'. :rotfl:

    Good to hear, Simply!:D

And more importantly, the warm up didn't leave you tired out - it primed you nicely for the start of the race.

Wow! Usain Bolt has just run 14.35s for 150m in Manchester!!! The fastest EVER!!! And 8.72s from 50m to 150m !!!
(I wonder what erm, 'nutrients' he uses?;))

The legs felt a little bit heavy today, due to the 3 speed sessions in the last 5 days, so a very relaxed run this evening just to keep the miles ticking over.

Having said that, it was the longest training run for several years, just pipping last week's 20.75!:D

I cant wait for this Bolt v Ukevas 15m head to head at Ally Pally!!:p:p
