Nicely done after the niggles of this last week, Ukevas.

Well im back from Majorca, went out of a run once when i was there.

Last night been absolutely dog sick, felt ill yesterday so did not eat. Had to take some immodium (not a good start), then a 2hr bus journey round the worlds picking everyone up, for then a 2hr flight to manchester.

Got home, drove the car out of the driveway and was nearly sick on the edge of the road.

About 2am this morning, awoke to spend 2hrs emptying my stomach of its contents, not managed to eat anything yet but my legs are aching, so no running for me for a few days..

    Poor me..

Eugh, bad luck Alias that doesn't sound nice- hope you're soon feeling better. _pale_

Well done sammy I think we must have had a reversal in the weather because it stopped raining here about 10 minutes before I left for the race and stayed dry until about 1/2 hour after I finished. It was still quite windy but the sun managed to break through a few times. More importantly - I DID IT!!!!!!

10K - 00:59:01 (09:26/mile) according to the nice new shiny watch my OH bought me for my birthday last week (:kisses3:) The official time said 59:16 as I crossed the line, I'm waiting for the results to be posted to check, but the start was quite narrow and crowded so I started my watch as I crossed the start line. Whichever, I don't mind as it's still under 60 mins. :j:j

I got a nice commemorative gift too - a dark blue hand towel!!! Do hand towels have a significance in the running world or was this memento as odd as I think it is???

    I DID THE MANCHESTER 10K TODAY!!!! :j:j:j

my first 10k is officially over, but i really enjoyed it, not really enjoying the blisters and aches now, but i was buzzing 2 hours ago lol.

I haven't got my official time through yet, but by my watch i made it 1 hour 52 mins, which was a great suprise as i'd been aiming for 2 hours :j:rolleyes:

it was massively windy which didn't help, and from 3km - 8km there was a torrential downpour!!!! so i was soaked to the skin!

off to marbella tomorrow for a well deserved rest in the sun!

Hey everyone, I did the Manchester 10k today too!

Never run before January, started doing some training with the guys and gals at work and was comfortably doing 6-9 miles recently so was fairly happy doing the 10k today, looking forward to the buzz of the event!

After a gray start and a bit too much waiting around for my liking we got going (I was in the pink wave which in hindsight was a bit crowded but I wasn't to know that when I registered!)

Anyway, I did it in 56:59 which I'm dead chuffed with, esp considering the slow start - gotta keep up the running now!

For others on here that did it, the results are available online at: http://www.greatrun.org/RAWresults/Results.aspx along with a link to Nike+ where you can compare with others that ran it!

Well done to everyone else that's been out this weekend :)
