OOoo AND *becky coughs to make sure you're all paying attention* - I hate intervals because I have been running wayyyyy more than a mile - Rich measured it for me and my garden is 450m round not 400m as I thought so my 7:30s are looking pretty good on that now :D

*Becky is not as slow as she thought and feels way better about tackling intervals again*

Indeed - especially as I'll be house sitting for the parentals as they are away in Canada (they live 1 mile from the start line I think :D)

Just to put that in perspective, for Becky to have a score of 56.65% the time would need to be 1:56:09.

So there's a massive difference of 2 seconds over 13.1 miles between the two of you!!!! I think this one could run and run.:p:p

    Rich

A few race ammendments for you.

    Remove these please
July 4th Parkrun Bramhall 5K KMStuart
July 5th Launceston 1/2 Marathon KMStuart
Sept 6th Gt Scottish Run 10K KMStuart
Oct 4th Loch Ness Marathon KMStuart

Bramhall parkrun will now be July 25th as mother is visiting granny on the other weekend so i get to play chaffeur. Being sensible and dropped the 10k from Gt Scottish Run to focus on a half time. Loch Ness dropped fpr monetary reasons, I.E. i dont have enough to go. Couple of local 10k's during the summer i'll need to find the dates out for too.

Also add me to the london list for 2010, i have a ballot entry in and the 100 miler is currently undecided due to the next bit.

Curently pondering the http://www.brathaychallenge.com/ for next year which would be May 7th to 16th. Will be talking to several of the people who have done it before that i know about required mileage pre race etc. Might do it in 2011 instead depending on how high i need to take my weekly mileage.

With some care and carefulness i'll be building up the mileage a fair bit prior to my 24 hour race so if all goes well i'll be looking to carry it on throught the rest of the summer. Does mean i'll actually have to draw up some form of training plan and avoid racing too often.

Okay Rich, a challenge for you.......its five weeks to the run for all in Leeds. I need a training plan that takes into account the fact that I can get out four days a week with a preference for a long run on Sundays. Becky did one for Sally but its got too many miles in it for me :rotfl: I haven't done more than 6 miles yet...and I want to be sub 60mins - even if its by 1 second....

    Can you help?

If you've seen the one for Sally then just adjust it to your own liking.

If there's too many miles, cut some out but to target times at 10K you really need to be doing long runs of 10-12 miles otherwise you're just in 'get you round' mode. And 'get you round' is something that leaves me scratching my head - why pay exhorbitant race entry fees to just try to complete a distance? That can be done in training for free!

So cut it back by all means but if you've paid a hefty entry fee surely you want to do the best you can.
