    Morning peeps....

I too have a 10k race tomorrow...and I will run to the race...(its round the corner :rotfl: I was going to walk (actually its about a mile) but I will now run slowly there...I too was scared of getting tired...

Are you aiming for any particular time Simply or just going with the flow....

just wanted to thank you guys for advice about warming up...
i just read that before going out for my 10k run today. i normally run virtually as soon as i have got out there and certainly have never run to warm up.

today i ran about 1-1.5k very easy pace and i found the going much better
in fact i managed a pb.
    56.46
also noted how much the strong wind affected my times
despite being fresh into the wind at the begining i was slightly quicker with the wind behind even though i was feeling a bit knackered...

anyway....moral of the story..listen to the advice..... need to find a good 1/2 marathon for around august / september....

Nicely done, Mascott. Congrats on the PB.

As you say the going gets easier on warm muscles - no point fighting the body, may as well go with the flow!:D

I'd like to say that as it's my first 10k I'd be happy just to get round but I'll be honest, as I'm amongst friends, and admit that I'd really like to get under an hour. Still, whatever I do will be a PB so it's all good. :T

How about you sammy? Any goals in mind for tomorrow's race?

Well done mascott if I could finish in that time tomorrow I'd be over the moon - not much chance of that though as I'm still a plodder. :D

If you look back to page 227 Rich has posted a list of races that peeps from this thread have entered so you might find something there that is convenient for you. If not, Runners World and The Running Bug have lists of events that you can search on their websites. Let us know which race you decide to take part in!!! :D

Back in here after a lay off from marathon injury (calf), Rich can you take me off Abingdon please as its full and I didn't apply in time.

Add me to Windsor 1/2 (I am in) and London 2010.

I've been as low as anything since the marathon, and not running hasn't helped. All that training and the buzz of the day is a massive thing to have experienced, it's all been a bit mundane since......

I'm going out for a run tomorrow see how the calf holds up.

    Cheers
