No Becky...no running until June! What reasoning have they given for the no running, I mean what is wrong with the bone scan. Is it likely that you could do more damage if you continue to run though?
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Um well yes but they arent sport specialists and hadnt even heard of footstrike anaemia so I think they are being wayyyyy over cautious - sorry but if a stress fractures takes 5 weeks to heal and I've been off three weeks already that doesn't make june *rolls eyes* - I'm hopnig the podiatrist will be more sensible since they see sports people a lot ;)

There is something wrong with you lot ;)

Okay been to the hospital today for a follow up on my bone scan and they reckon no running till June (yeah they can whistle for that ;)), anyway they've referred me to a podiatrist and they'll see what they say...off this avo for bloods and xrays - joy!

Well it cant be that bad then if they're saying you can run in 2 week's time and they are over cautious after all.:D

Just need to sort out the energy supply now and you'll be good to go!;)

I agree although they dont think stress fractures now they think shin splints - who knows they all think different things *rolls eyes* but yeah as soon as the energy is back then I am back on the running horse whatever they say (although I may well get nice free insoles as a result of this ;))

    Shin splints!!!

In which case, no worries at all.

As for the running horse - just dont use it in races, I think its classed as cheating.;)

Yeah they called it shin splints but with something else because I have calluses on my legs (nice) but I think they are old football injuries which would make sense to those parts of the bones being weaker...

Anyway I am sooooo hungry I could eat a horse if that helps :p

Well it does make more sense than a stress fracture because your activity has been very low risk in terms of causing stress fractures.

The idea that scar tissue from older injuries has caused the shin sheath to be less elastic than it would be otherwise also sounds very logical and, if that is the case, should improve over time.

A raging appetite is brilliant news!!:D:D:D
