And here's to another good week's running ahead of us all - may we be fully recovered, energised and full of endorphins!!

I'm really, really sorry - am I in the doghouse now?:o
Nevertheless, I was so chuffed for you because with the training that you've done this week, it must mean that 50:00 is soooo close if you actually eased down before the race..............so great progress.
So is it true that you check to see which races have the best momentoes before selecting which to enter?;)Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

No of course not!It makes no difference does it? Once the results are on the net they are there for anyone to see.
I really think the sub-50 is close too, but with my Saturday runs being my long runs, and most races being on a Sunday I would have to sacrifice a Saturday session for a Sunday race and I don't really want to do that. I was quite surprised myself by my time today though. I started out quite quickly, doing the first two miles in 15:59, so exactly on target. The course was off-road for most of the way, on tracks and paths by the river mostly, and at one part it was really muddy, and we had to splash through big puddles. I just thought I would try to keep running as hard as I could until I had to slow down but I'm pleased to say that I didn't have to slow down too much.
As for the memento, the best memento is a good time isn't it?Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

another good run, KMS - collectively we have done a fair few miles (even though my contribution is "less than average"!)

Well done on the run KM!!!
Hypno - you'll be adding vastly to the total next week and from then on - especially if you start doing twice a day runs so no worries there
Oh I'm so tired...trying to stay awake on the train, but at least my cramp has nearly gone away now and I can actually walk0 -
Chickadee - Glad I'm forgiven!:p Its nice when 'train through' races are delivering such a good pace. When you consider that the initial aim was to go sub-50 by the end of Jan, in fitness terms it is pretty much a case of mission accomplished if you can do a 52:02 after a long run the day before!
Sally - 'Only 34 miles'. That, in itself, shows that you're making good progress!:D
KMS - Nice running. Its never easy, in fact downright infuriating sometimes, having to battle a headwind so well done for gritting it out!:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
