I'd have been happy with 15-16 miles!! Good for you - it was always going to be a fairly big Ask, making that big leap to 20 miles......still plenty of weeks for you to go that little bit further!
Ukevas - good news on no painkillers :TSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

A lovely run this afternoon up hill and down dale with the sole aim of spending 'time on the feet' both for myself and Becky. It was an intended 3-lap 20 mile outing.
Following yesterday's race there were no after effects whatsoever for Becky as she jauntily bounced around the first 2 laps. On to the third lap at 13 miles and she was feeling slightly frustrated by the pace and cracked on looking perfectly capable of conquering the 20 miles. The feet cramp at 15.5 miles in no way takes away the fact that 20 miles would have been completed otherwise.
So a really good sense of achievement was felt all round.:D
Ukevas - Hope the lack of painkillers means that you are now well and truly on the mend!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

A huge WELL DONE to Chickadee on her run in the Chernobyl 10K today in a time of 52:02.
This compares to 53:13 in the last 10K in the Pennine 10K and is on the back of a heavy training week.......so very impressive indeed!:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Oi you cheeky monkey! There you go stealing my thunder.I have to say, I had a blast today. The weather was perfect, it was a busy field (496 finishers) and I had a great run. You should have seen me sprinting at the finish to try to get under 52 minutes, but the funnel to the finish line seemed to go on forever. I was a bit worried that my legs would be too tired from yesterday for me to give it a decent shot, but they didn't bother me at all, except for on a couple of very short but steep hills. The race starts and ends about a mile from my house so I jogged there and back too.
All in all another good week's running in the bag, with my mileage at 38 miles for the week.
Some excellent running from the rest of you too. A good pace, and plenty of mileage from Sally, as well as a good training run for Rich & Becky (of course!) Hypno, I'm really happy for you that your feet are in better shape - you can get back to the training now. Well done for today's run too it sounded like awful weather. It sounds like everyone is well on track for their various races.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90
