Well, events overtook me somewhat today, so no run done.......again.

But....on the plus side, this is the first day my feet have not felt sore, so am going out for a run tomorrow morning and will just see how far I get. I will be taking it steady and doing circuits of the village so never far from home if the going gets too tough......

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.......plenty of running going on!

Brilliant news, Hypno - those feet have been annoying you so its great to hear that the end to the problem seems to be in sight.

Not running today will probably give them chance to properly heal so I hope you feel great on the run tomorrow.

thanks rich, hopefully tomorrow will be the beginning of the "real" training!! It certainly has been a frustrating 10 days or so - I am very grateful for the fact I got some good length runs in before that though, so at least I have the confidence that I can do it, and am sure I will get back into it fairly quickly!

good luck with the 20 miler, becky! And good luck chick for that PB!

I will be going out in about an hour - when the children are doing their paper rounds. It is too dark here at the mo, but I will def report back when I know how long I last - aiming for 5 miles, but will just see how the feet are. Would like to go further, obviously!!

    Happy Running Everyone!!

Good luck today Becky...20 miles! I was going to go early but It sounded like hurricane winds and lashing rain out there this morning so went back to sleep. Shall probably head out around 10am to do a nice 10-12 miles.
Hope the run goes ok today hypno and those dam blisters don't cause you anymore trouble

    ooh - garmin!! yippee :j

I braved the hurricane-esqe wind and rain......it was really hard and I was very tense as I ran into the wind which was not much fun.

I also found it difficult to judge how fast I was running, because at times it felt I was running on the spot, and at other times I was being pushed along.

Anyway, I managed 6 miles in 62 mins, which I was quite pleased about - the feet are very padded with dressings taped all round my feet, but they seem to have held up, so that is the main thing - gives me confidence to go out again tomorrow without worrying too much.

Good luck with your run later, Sally!

Yay well done H, thats good news that the feet held up for 6 whole miles. Sure you will be back up to your mileage soon.

I maybe asking for help from you with the old Garmin once It arrives - am not the most technical person out there but am fed up with stupid Nike+ giving me incorrect mileage and then not saving data grrrrr

Right must get out there and do this run

I have to admit, sally, that if I had known how manky the weather was, I might have put it off, but once out there I knew I might as well get on with it.

Garmin have a really really helpful FREE telephone helpline - I was a numpty and couldn't work out how to set it up but the guy on the end of the phone (not in a foreign call centre either) was very patient and happy to talk me through it all without giving away the impression that he thought I was a bit lala!

I am sure I don't use mine as well as I could, but for what I need it for, it is great!!! You will lurve it!

  • Glad to hear that you survived the wind and rain Hypno, not a nice morning at all is it?

Sally - I'll be following your progress with the Garmin with great interest as I am planning to start running outdoors and am looking for a way of monitoring my performance. It's all too easy on the treadmill to set the speed and off I go - not too sure how I'm going to get on when I brave it outside.

Good luck with the run today Becky - 20 miles - go girl!!!
