    And I've found myself a 5k series too - 27th May, 24th June and 26th August.

Looks like that's my summer sorted! Now, what was it you said, 26 mins for a 5k and 54 for a 10k in order to do a 2hour half marathon? Something like that, anyway.........

Thanks for the advice regarding stretching. I walk for about 10 minutes before my run and walk 15-20 minutes home again. I'll get my shoes checked tomorrow. I've never had a problem with my legs before but I've never been so overweight before, so that could have a bearing on it.

Well I went out for my first outdoor run tonight with another non running but does lots of walking friend. We worked out a 3 mile route and we didn't have many walking breaks (she asked to stop a couple of times when I could have carried on) but we did it in 35 mins which I was pretty pleased with! There was a steady drizzle which I round really refreshing to be honest, so I'm feeling quite pleased with myself, and we are off out running again on Friday :j

ukevas - bringing your race forward :T:T:T

    k-bagpuss - running outdoors :T:T:T

richoneday - giving me an extra minute for my race targets :T:T:T:T:T:rotfl:

rachel - re stretching, I just do as some of the others have said, and just listen to my body and take notice of how I feel. Sometimes it takes me ages to get into my running - that is just my muscles warming and settling into it.
