Well, I've decided to rest my poor legs after my first 10K race on Sunday. I felt like I had rulers stuck to the backs of my legs yesterday and the other half was laughing at my funny walk! I probably didn't help myself by jumping up and down and dancing at the Ultravox gig last night :rotfl:

I've been onto the take to the streets website and downloaded a training plan to work towards the Great North Run, so it's back to the treadmill tomorrow!
Good wine needs to breathe, if it stops breathing try mouth to mouth.

    Hi Bagpuss,

Sorry to hear you're feeling stiff - but thats a sign of adaptation in the body so its a good thing really (just doesnt feel like it now!) :D

I know a few peeps on the exercise thread in the arms have commented how difficult it is to run outside after training on a treadmill (since the action is different) so bear that in mind while you are training...

I know what you mean about the difference between the road and the treadmill! Although on the treadmill I'd been running on a 1% incline which did help a little, but I'm going to run outside too with my OH although I have trouble keeping up with him - he's training for the Edinburgh marathon again now so my piddley little distances aren't any good for him! At least in the gym I can go in the pool whilst he's still running away!

Well thats okay - when you start going up for GNR he should be tapering down :p:D

I've never run on a treddie but others have mentioned its hard to adapt to road afterwards - I guess the incline must help :D

Hopefully, although he's doing the GNR too fortunately! (although he finished it last year in 1hr 40 which is a bit fast for me!!!) He's now decided triathlons are the way forward for him so he's entered the Ripon, London and Stockton triathlons this year too, and the Great North Swim!:eek::eek: I think it must be his age! :rotfl:

Its all that North East air Bagpuss ;).

Or he "might" be trying to keep his mind of his football team.. if he supports them that play in black and white.

:rotfl:Good one! Although he isn't even slightly interested in football! Even though he's a Geordie through and through! I think I must have one of the few not interested in football in any shape or form (and it's bloomin great!!)
