Becky i wouldnt worry about that too much i was completly blowing by the end, i have never ran any were near 5 min kms before so was completly shocked when i went passed the first marker in 5.01, i didnt even set off quick either i made a mental effort not to set too fast and i let a load of people past me as they wanted to run off but then picked them off over the 3 laps( thats a great feeling) i was came round the last corner and could see the clock ticking down and tried to speed up to get under the 25 mins but i swear the clock speeded up just for me!LOLRunning Club5KM - 25:20(51.21%) 10KM - 53:40(50.26%)1/2 Marathon - 2.14.57(44.20%)Marathon 5:11:00 (40.78%)0

*lurking beginner sneaks in*
Just a heads up that Aldi currently have running gear in their shops. I need to get some 3/4 length tights as my full length ones will be too warm when the weather gets going a bit. Not quite ready to unleash the world to my thighs and wear proper shorts just yet!

Thanks for the welcome guys
I started running back in October last year but life/work/kids/and a never ending cold got in the way and put me off for a while. I have the Race for Life on 10th May and I'm still building up to try and make the 5K without walking
I'll get there eventually, lol.Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0 -
Hi all been a while since i last posted. Lots of good running going on a see having kimmed through the last few pages.
Me wel my first race since Cyprus marathon was on saturday and i clocked 52:53 and was second last in it cos i went off way to fast. Hopefully my next race tomorrow, the sme distance but all road this time, will be somewhat faster. Also here is my current race plan for the rest of the year plus a single race next year too.
Forward race planning time again, although i am intending to cut back on the number i do as its not cheap. Also trying to be sensible and not do to many races in a row.
So far it looks like this and except where stated i'll be doing all of them.
May 10th Tipton 12 hour track race to confirm tonight.
May 26th Lambfoot Loop 5.5 mile road race
May 31st Edinburgh Marathon asuming bonus is paid next month
June 10th Gosfroth 10 mile
July 4th Bramhall Park Run 5k on the way down to
July 5th Launceston Half Marathon
July 11th Hull 24 hour track race
July 22nd Newlands Valley 9k
Sept 6th Great Scottish Run 10k
Sept 6th Great Scottish Run half marathon
Sept 13th Cumberland Ale 10 mile
Sept 20th Great Langdale Marathon 20th Anniversary
October 4th Loch Ness Marathon not certain to do yet cos of the next one
October 11th Great Eastern Run highly likely to do as can visit uncle too and is fast
October 25th Great Cumbrian Run Half marathon
Nov 1st Derwentwater 10 mile
Nov 14th Brampton to Carlisle (assumed date on past experience)
April 24th 2010 Devon 100 mile ultra
Would like to do another marathon at the end of the year on a fast course ideally but not sure of my options. Luton in decemeber is a probable at the moment i think unless there are any others i am missing. If i do Loch Ness it will be taken relativly easily.
Also due to being injured and not able to do a ultra in january i have an option to do a leg of a trans britain run being 3 days are in Cumbria. This is in mid sept if i recall and am about to email to ask for the dates.Debt free Nerd number 1122 LBM Jan 2009 Debt @ LBM £40,086.88 (14/01/09)

Hi KMS,
As usual I feel well and truly knackered just by reading through your racing plans.:p
I'll add them all to the list later on so that we can follow your progress.
Its nice to see Brampton to Carlisle mentioned - it evokes pleasant memories, being the scene of my 10 mile pb.:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
