Bex - I'd be happy to (with Rich's help :D) - can you PM me - what race you want to train for/date/current running level/target time/how many days a week you want to train etc and send me an email address and I'll do it this weekend :D

Ukevas - hope you dont get out on Sunday - if I see you on the hill you'll have one cross West Country girl to deal with ;)

Didnt run this evening - am now on the train to Leeds and its packed :(

Thanks very much! I'll PM you shortly!

Hope your train journey wasn't too much of a hassle...it's always worse on a Friday! Good luck for tomorrow!

Pepper, you have started making changes to your routine which is great!:T

I look fat on that pic :(

Note to self buy running clothes that fit - stop wearing old running gear :D
  • Oooo.... I feel super naughty as I signed up to the gym this year... prior to this I used to do the odd jog and years ago I used to jog for miles with my mum. My mum still does and does the odd 10k / half marathon and I'd like to be able to join her this year!

Started off slow at the gym and going 3x a week. I also walk a heck of a lot both to and from work and during work and I can really feel my health improving.

I now want to include some proper running training to this, I have a garman thingy my mum got me for christmas so I think I shall try my first run this sunday and see how far I can get without stopping and how fit I actually am!!

Thank you for this thread, it's pushed me to start training!

    Hi Miss KC,

It sounds like you have a good example in your mum.

If your muscles have previously 'jogged for miles' then you will soon get back into the routine, the 'muscle memory' will be a big advantage to you.

I look forward to hearing how you get on on Sunday!:D :D

    Hi all,

Just thought I would pop in to wish Rich & Becky good luck for tomorrow's 5k. Rich - shift your a$$ and get sub-20 this week! You know you can do it! (Still in awe of your speed ;) )
Becky - Go girl. Sub-26 should be a doddle for you.

Everyone seems to be doing great. Glad the feet are feeling better Hypno, you must have been climbing the walls.

Went out last night (Thurs) with the women's group and managed 9.75 miles in 1:28. I was really surprised, as it didn't feel that fast  .

Off out tomorrow at 8.15 for a two-hour run with runchum, then another 10k on Sunday. (At which I will endeavour to shift my own a$$ and run faster than my pb-this-time-around of 53:13.)

Will check in tomorrow for an update.

    See ya!

What he means is that I was wearing a headband and I took it off and had to wrap it round my arm to keep it out of the way - it was not sweaty - do I look sweaty?? :p

Isn't it way past your two bedtimes anyway? (Rick, Becky) You don't want to oversleep in the morning do you? We don't know anyone who would do that do we? :p:p:p
