Not really Sally - I'm using this race as a marker for the next challenge so its just like any other race really - perhaps I'll get excited on the day, but hopefully not too much - I want to stick to my race plan and not get carried away.
This is especially important to me because its something I've done before in Brighton and seeing the suffering going on last week in Blackpool I dont want to be in that position if at all possible!0 -
Nice work, Simply - That is no mean feat getting 4 runs done in successive days, it shows that your recovery between runs is improving well.:D
Good running, Sally. Thats the next milestone ticked off - it sounds like you're feeling just about ready now for the big event!
It was certainly nice to be meandering around the course today from start to finish taking in Greenwich/Blackheath, Cutty Sark, The Tower, Docklands, The Embankment and The Mall. I wish I was doing it too!!:D:D

This is going to be me this weekend - :EasterBun
Hi Simply,
Its a combination of the treadmill, cross trainer, bike, rowing machine and a couple of leg exercises. I was quite chuffed when i told the instructor what i thought i needed to focus on and he agreed with me. Am doing some training walks beforehand to help. Got a trial of Snowdon on 1st May and a trial of Scafell Pike on 23rd May. Also when I cant get to the gym,i do some time on my stepper at home which helps.:beer:0 -

Nice drizzly morning on the common today.
It was an opportunity to get the legs moving again and considering it is still only 6 days since the marathon a reasonable enough time, being 45 seconds off the pb.
20 miles planned for tomorrow, then another week of light training before getting stuck into the next build up.:D:D

Some photos from the race at Wimbledon today:0

Good pics Becky - you arms are quite high...is that your runlning style - sorry if that sounds a stupid question......
and what is in the last picture
Simply cynical you are doing great - I am lagging behind.....Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Hi Sammy,
My style is quite tight on the arms atm - but they are right at the top of the swing in the picture so it looks a bit odd, even at 5k races the main purpose of arms is balance so you can do whatever you want with them and it shouldnt impede your times too much
The course is marked with flour because its biodegradable and he sometimes puts topical pictures - todays was a bunny0 -

The pics are great aren't they Sammy? Becky and Rich make it look so easy; not like me I'm always bright red and grimacing - very attractive :rotfl: Have you managed to get out recently?
I'm all excited - my number came through today for the trail run on 26 April so we had a trip out to Houghton to check out the area. It looks like the route is all bridle paths and cross country - it's a good job that the blurb says it's non-competitive as I've only done road running to date. Should be a hoot!!! :T2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
Hi Simply,
Neither of us were racing full out today hence why we were both about 40 seconds off pb times - saving it all for tomorrow's 20 miler
Wow that race sounds fun - on London Marathon day as well so it should be a good atmosphere too
Also today we saw the Poly Marathon trophy which FLM stole and now use as the FLM trophy, by complete accident in the London Museum.0
