Hi Everybody, Im still lurking and reading all your achievements! Have put the running aside for a while so that I can concentrate on getting fit for my 3 peaks. The ankle finally healed up after administrations from the Osteopath at the gym. But then the dog decided she was missing out and wanted some sympathy and had a bad leg as well which was a bit of a worry as the vet thought it might have been a ruptured cruciate ligament, but thankfully not, just some bruising i think from years ago that has caused the beginnings of arthritis around the knee cap!:o But shes now back to her usual long walks which is good! Have started going to the gym at work regularly and am finding its quite good, have moments when i think i wonder what ive let myself in for but know the satisfaction at the end will be worth it.:beer:0

Hi haley :hello: Glad to hear that your ankle has healed; what activities are you doing at the gym to build your fitness? The 3 peaks sounds quite a challenge but all that dog walking should help.

Message is on its way simply but all looks good to me
Beertins - Rich is currently working on your plan - I'm a bit worried about the 130 miles a week!!!!0 -
Just going to Greenwich/Blackheath to scope the starts for two weeks time and check out where's the best place to be, then a stroll over to the Isle of Dogs to view the quiet area of the course where there will few spectators and work on mental strategies to cope with this and also the last 6 miles on the day
Have a good one all!0 -

Hi Becky, great to see that you're getting well-prepared mentally. That's half the battle. As for the 'quiet area of the course where there will be few spectators', both times I have run London I never noticed a quiet area! I think the crowd noise goes from huge roar to encouraging cheer, but quiet? Nope! Also, you'll have the other runners around you for company and its surprising how you can get loads of support from fellow runners.
Strategies for dealing with the last 6 miles are a good idea, but you're so close by that stage there's no way you'll not get to the finish, it will just be the difference in speed in the last 6 that you'll have any influence over.
Have a great day. Off to get my train to Tyndrum this afternoon and loads of jobs to do before then.
Happy Easter everyone! :easter:Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Evening All!
Nice run Sally - bet you are chuffed to get the distance under your belt and good news that you felt the last six miles was achievable
Ooo more good running Simply - Sunday is going to be good fun - just remember to take it really slowly and try to enjoy it - these long runs can be tough but boy are they worth the effort!
