Morning :hello:
All this talk of FLM is just so exciting and Sally I can't believe you are thinking about the next one already - go girl!!!
Beck/Rich - thanks for posting the photos of Blackpool. That looks an ace run along the sea front - did I read that it was the last one?? Shame if it is.
Last nights run was fartlek for me - 4 miles - 00:38:18 (9:31/mile) - I have discovered one thing about my Nike+ sensor though. The faster my pace gets the further I have to run to complete the miles - somehow I don't think it's too accurate. Has anyone else found this? :rotfl:2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
Well done Simply another great run there
Yes it was the last Blackpool - but they are doing one at Fleetwood in September and the trimpell 20 is on the seafront too isnt it?? It was a great course - apart from the concrete did get to you after a while (okay for me I only did one lap)
No ideas about nike + sorry - does Idio have one maybe??0 -

I didnt find it accurate at all, because as soon as your stride length changes it changes the distance you have done because its calibrated to the stride length of how you ran when you calibrated it. Absolutely fine it your stride length stays the same all the time, but whose does that?I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Well done Simply - I take it you're enjoying your fartlek sessions? They certainly get the heart pumping and give that invigorated feeling.:D
Yep, it was the last Blackpool (maybe) because of the costs involved and lack of support from the council. Even the post race t-shirt states that its the last one.
However, one guy emailed the organiser to thank him for putting on a great race and saying what a shame it was that it was the last. The reply he got said 'watch this space....'. So there may be hope that it could actually continue.......Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Morning all!
I got an email from Dad's running club to say that there will be a group of people running the 10k with me tomorrow evening.....fantastic :j It goes to show just how much they thought of my Dad, which is a really nice feeling.
The event is a complete money-raiser - the club don't take anything from the entry fees at all, so every penny (except the £2 unaffiliated runner fee) goes to charity.....
So, I will be telling them tomorrow that if they can get me round sub-60 then I will happily increase my donation.....:o

Thats great news, Hypno.
You've now got a group of personal pacemakers and since you have got so close before I'm sure that the extra motivation will give you that extra push to give you a great chance of going sub-60.
Good luck.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Thank you - my neck feels much better today too. Before I knew about everyone running with me tomorrow, I had decided to do my usual Wednesday 10 tonight, but I think that I need to conserve some energy for tomorrow instead, so will do a shorter plod this evening I think.
Pain is temporary, quitting is permanent - I wonder how many times I will repeat THAT mantra over the next 18 daysSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hypno its my permanent mantra
and I am sure I will be muttering it deleriously after FLM

Nope, the Trimpell 20, although in Morecambe, doesn't go near the seafront or indeed near a road except about 0.5 miles at the 5 mile stage. It is run almost entirely on a tarmac cycle track up the vale of Lune and makes a great course!:D:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
