has anyone been watching Willies chocolate revolution? I know you mentioned before about drinking coffee before a race Rich so that your body burns fat rather than glycogen. He has just done a test on drinking his cacao drink before exercise and it had the same effect that they burnt far more fat than glycogen :) Must eat more proper chocolate before running

My neck hurts - damn you physio!!!

Gives new meaning to the phrase "no pain, no gain" I suppose

But I am ready for my mega high milage week next week - ok, so it is high milage on skis, but who cares :D

Ouch!!! But I'm sure you'll end up praising the physio when all is mended.:D:D

And dont knock it, skiing is supposed to be one of the hardest workouts you can take part in. You'll come back feeling fit as a fiddle...

I dont care how good it is - NOTHING would make me give up my coffee habit - the fact that is works to relax muscles is purely a happy co-incidence for me I'm afraid ;)

For non coffee lovers though perhaps cocoa is the wya to go??

See I hate coffee so this might be a good alternative for me :)

Coffee and chocolate - that is the way to go for maximum effect, surely :T

I ski hard, rich, so I definitely get a workout - my children are racers, remember, and I will have to be working harder than ever not to look a numpty when I am with them!!!

    Can't wait :D

And I know the back/neck will feel better eventually - I just wish I had gotten it sorted months ago!

Thanks for the encouragement Useless with Wonga and Rich. I've got my first 5k race (Race for Life) on 6th June in Guildford. I'm really looking forward to it.

I've added it to the race plan list, Rachel. Dont forget to let us know the result - good luck.

Ok question...once you have completed marathon and want to move onto the next one Rich what sort of plan do you do? I mean you know you can cover the distance but obviously want to improve the time. Do you continue to run a long run or drop down and work back up again but putting in more interval sessions?

Back on the 19th, by which time I will be tapering anyway, so I am more or less done with my running for now!

    How scary is that!!!!
