I have weirdly got to the point where I actually want it to be over and done with so I can start on training for the next one - is that normal Rich??

I just spent £22 on food for four days!!! We should get fruit and veg grants from the government - all this running is costing me a fortune in food ;)

Wow, I so had the munchies on Saturday afternoon. It was a case of "Keep moving Will, your mum's hungry!" I did 16 miles, which is quite a long way, but yesterday and today, my back is really aching. It is sort of round my ribs at the back. Could it be connected to the run do you think?

I wish I was doing FLM now too. The build-up is so exciting and the hype is great. I'm so envious of those of you who are doing it.

Yep, these big races dont half interrupt the flow of your training!:p:p

At the end of the day, its just another race to take the adaptation from and move onto the next one.....the 'project' is much longer than one race, its a fascinating never ending experiment.

And this is a quote from someone who should know:
Expect to keep improving for 6 to 8 years from when you start proper training.

So, yes, I understand the urge to get the first phase completed and then go into the second one with a lot more knowledge tucked under your belt.:D

  • Grrrrr, I can't believe I missed all the excitement; I couldn't log on Thurs/Fri and when I popped in on Saturday the site was down.

So, well done on the races Sammy, Rich and Becky it sounds like you all had successful runs.

I've kept to my training plan:-

    Thurs - 4 miles, hilly, 00:41:48 (10:21/mile)
Fri - 4 miles, 00:44:09 (10:48/mile) I ran with my OH for this one and found it hard to run this slow, I felt as though my muscles weren't warming up
    Sun - 6 miles, 01:04:04 (10:15/mile)

Rich - I've entered a couple of races, could you add them to the list please?

    19th April - Salisbury - 5 miles
    26th April - Houghton - 11k trail run

I've had my number through for the Salisbury run (great excitement!!!) - looks like it's going to have a huge field - I'm number 6 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Chick, if you don't normally get similar aches then it is likely to be something initiated away from running, eg sleeping in a strange position or banging against something, and then worsened during the run.

As with any niggles probably best ignored as long as it goes away in a reasonable time.

It would be good to do FLM, but its also going to be great watching this year, to see how the last few month's training efforts pay off.

Thanks Rich, I don't normally get anything like this so probably un-connected with running. By the way, I got my blood test results back today. As expected, I am completely normal! (Well, others may have different opinions.....)

I will be glued to the TV to watch FLM this year too. I get so emotional watching it. I even still get goosebumps when I think about it.

Yeah, there's something about the music that the BBC use at the beginning of the show that sends a tingle down my spine.

But this year it will be a new experience for me, being at the event but not running - I just know that I'm going to be itching to join in.:p:p
