    Its added JJ!

Where is that race? I guess its somewhere flat down in Lincolnshire or similar?

PS Yesterday's race was a real example of how age doesn't cause performance to dwindle away too quickly. Both the men's and ladies marathons were won by veterans, with the first SEVEN places in the men's marathon all being filled by vets. On top of that, the half marathon running alongside was also won by a vet! Where are the youngsters.....?

No, not seen the results yet, just this article in today's Blackpool Gazette:

Interesting to see that Ron McAndrew (the organiser) and his wife had to fund the shortfall from the event from their own pockets!

I could have sworn the womens winner was not a vet - she was young looking ;)

Anyway, there are some photos up but not many so far - hopefully the full lot will go up soon :D

And she burst into tears at the end because she had no idea she was leading (how could she know with two races mixed together?). And nor did 2nd and 3rd!

I had pondered telling her at about 18 miles but didnt on the basis that someone else would probably have already told her.

PS And most vets are young looking!;)

Its 35 Sally, not old at all!!:D:D

I'm feeling fine today, just got the hunger that I didn't seem to get yesterday. So no adverse effects, although I am not itching to get out for a run today for some reason.:p

So you're getting all geared up for 20 days time then? The first marathon is the most exciting, even if it is full of unknowns, because the training comes together to produce something that the body has never done before.

A woman vet is 35 Sally for normal races

But the women's times are very lenient for Good For Age places for FLM anyway - I only need to get sub 3:45, but if I was a man I'd need 2:45!!!! But women's GFA vets for FLM are 49 and above so I guess it balances out!
