There was more of a general gradual build up of muscle tiredness, specifically the calves, which caused a slowing of the pace.
But there was nothing that even remotely led to thoughts of stopping or not finishing, so I'm fairly sure 'The Wall' didn't manage to put in an appearance!:D:D
Well done! So, the seriously high mileage really did pay off then. I'm sure we'll all be experiencing the 'gradual build up of muscle tiredness' when we do our respective races. You are such a master of under-statement!:p I'll bear that description in mind as I grind out my last six miles in Prague. I didn't know it was going to be the last running of the event. I wonder why?Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Well done Rusty - 18 milers certainly build the confidence and knock you into shape. Tapering is the nice bit!
Chick, it even says on the t-shirt that its the final event - its due to the organisers not getting enough support from Blackpool council. They have stated that they will run a marathon on the Fylde coast in 2010, but its likely to be Fleetwood because they get more support there.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Okay thanks goodness it happened near the station
A maintenance guy sprinted down the track and fixed it in super quick time and we are going again - whooop
But my first ever emergency stop in a train - was pretty interesing for a minute or two there0 -
Brilliant running by all this weekend. I have been out of action since Wednesday with the cold from hell, along with horrendous sinusitus so am not going to make it worse by running and having some time out to get better before my last big mileage on FridayI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Well done all the runners this weekend.
If it hadn't been for me reading about Blackpool on Rich's sig, I wouldn't have known it was on. Blackpool Council for you
If I was with the times, I could have come and waved you both over the finish line. It was a lovely sunny day and I did wonder if it was a bit too warm.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -

I think that is what the organisers are referring to, Whatatwit, the lack of any enthusiasm for the event from the council - and yet it was clearly well supported on the day.
Thats a shame that you didn't come down, it was a great day for spectating - and yes, the fact that we are all rather pink from the sun suggests it played a significant role in affecting the times!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
