Becky - I played the viola......no time for it now, sadly so probably couldn't manage three blind mice.........but once upon a time I was quite good!

Anyway, as you can tell from the time (or lack of) I was away, I didn't go far. 2.67 miles and I felt every step of it! 28:31 so 10.41 a mile....

So not great.....distance wise, but it told me that my feet are not heeled, and I need to be careful. I have decided to take it easy, mileage wise, this coming week - see if I can get up to 5 or 6 miles over the next few days, and then that would give me 12 weeks of "good" training.

Does that sound sensible, or am I going to be leaving it too late?

    Really !!!!!! off.....

Its a fine line to tread, in that complete rest is not really considered the way to go anymore as you need to get blood flowing to the affected area.

But then again, you don't want to make a condition worse and end up having more time off.

So your plan is probably about right I would say!

Oh sorry your run wasnt great - but at least you were able to get out which shows it is improving, albeit frustratingly slowly :(

Viola - oooo very nice. I played violin for 6 years but was terrible (my poor neighbours!) but it was a nice change to singing which is more intuitive for me - I have to practice to keep my voice in shape, but I usually 'get' a piece on first listen - which is good considering my music reading is appalling ;)

I think I will just have to accept I will be a "get round" runner, rather than aiming for my 4:30 that I was previously after.........

becky - I have an electric violin - it is fab because you can put earplugs in and it becomes silent to everyone but you!

  • Hey all,

Just caught up with the thread! Good efforts from everybody!

I went two hours of netball training on Monday, rested Tues (with a nice Indian Head massage) and weds.

Today I went to the gym, ran a mile in 11.15. I walked at a fast pace to bring my time up to 30 mins.

I managed to zone out quite well this time! The lady on my Nike+ thing tells me when I'm halfway! hehe. Then Lance Armstrong told me it was my farthest distance. hee hee

    Good session Bext!

How did you get Lance Armstrong to go out with you? I thought he was doing his comeback race in Australia? He obviously thought your session was more important!
