nervous Rich, very nervous but its the unknown I think that scares me. Actually I was carrying a huge pile of washing up the stairs this morning and got to the top huffing and puffing and realised that I must still be quite unfit!

Just need to get in some lomg runs to boost the confidence. Am down for 10 miles this weekend but Run club are going out for 9.5 miles on Saturday so am tempted to do that and then run again on Sunday ?

If it was me Sally I'd do the 9.5 then depending on how I felt go out for a short 4-6 miler on the Sunday...but only because my rest day is Monday so I could always relax if it was too much...does that help??

I think I'd agree with that, do the 9.5 and then something really easy on Sunday but no need to do 10 again.

Ok right I will do that...will have run club on Monday night anyway which will be at least another 6 miles
Just a bit worried that they will keep stopping and I will have to wait for the slower runners...not good at this stop start malarky that they do!
Ah maybe I will just go it alone on Sunday..decisions decisions

still no running from me.........I decided to let everything heal properly for fear of causing more damage which puts paid to training later on (and crucially, closer to the big day!).

So, by the weekend I will have ventured round the block a couple of times to ease myself back in - with the aim of an 8 miler or so at the weekend, then I should be more or less back on track.

    But it is sooooo frustrating!!!

    Total this week - 0 miles :o

    Morning All,

So is pretty disgusting weather out there today...but I went out to try out my new intervals and sadly no joy :(

I did an 8 lap warm up avg. 2:30 a lap and then did one lap at 1:43 waited around for about 2 minutes and tried to do the second and just couldnt run more than the back straight :(

Its definitely the waiting around thats getting to me - too much time to think about stuff - like 'you wont be able to get round', its a shame because the first lap, which I ran into from my warm up felt great, but the second from standing start was just all wrong, I just dont know what to try now :(
  • Morning all,
may be its just the really rubbish weather thats got you down becks. Dont giveup on it just yet, you should try it again once the weather turns a little bit nicer. I know i dread going out when its raining/snowing/really windy.
Iv got circuits this afternoon, iv been told its a mix of running and core work today, so will have to see how i feel as to see if run is going to be helpful or not. Just hope i dont get the sick feeling again if i do go out.

If its any consolation Becky I wouldn't be able to do it either. Think you need to give yourself a bit of slack and just chill about it a bit.
    onwards and upwards :)
