Well done on the run Sally hope you arent too sore tomorrow! That time is great considering the conditions (I ran that today and it was lovely here ;))
  • Id agree with you there becks, i see it all the time at circuits, the ones with the most flash clothing and trainers hardly put any effort in as they dont want to get thier cloths sweated up and the ones with a haphazerdly put together set of training clothes( meaning ME) tend to put the most effort in and enjoy the training a lot more.
Iv only had to buy a high visability top to wear when i go running at night so only spent £10 on my running gear as i just use the same as i would for circuits obviously washed before reusing !!!

Running is cheap yes racing however can be expensive if you do 25-30 a year.

Gonna be odd doing less than 10 this year with most of them being local cheap races.

Was gonna copy my trainig plan post from elsewhere but i'm having formatting issues cos its currently in a excel spreadsheet bloody micrsoft ;) Will write it up in word and hope it works that way.

    Good running rich.

How are you guys starting to find the running now that you're out for so long each time? When I've done longer runs, it's got a little dull at times, plodding along - the xcountry routes are a lot better, but when it's just pavement pounding time can seem to go very slowly...

Anyway, played footy last night, which was great (think I scored 8 goals, including the best one I've ever scored - go me...) and am out for another game tonight - then will look at trying to do a 7-9 either tomorrow or weds - and thinking about mountain biking down the gower at the weekend...Starting to feel a little stronger again already.

BTW - you can see how severe my drop-off has been over xmas by looking at the miles covered per month:
    jan (@21st) 19
    dec 28.5
    nov 71.5
oct 46 (ill for part of the month)
    sep 65
    aug 43
    jul 35
    jun 21
  • Becky - I've had more rest days than training days recently so the mileage hasn't been that high. This week should be around 62 if everything goes to plan, but thats a big 'if'!

And yes, you will be itching to push it past 60 when you get there - even if it means putting your running kit on at 11:45 on Sunday evening to do the last mile!:p

JJ - I think your body was in shock from the effort. It might fall out with you if you keep doing that to it!:p

Kms - Did you have a new year's resolution to get your running costs down below £3.00 per mile?:p :p

Hobsch and Beer Tins - Well done on getting out there and enjoying it.

Sally - Ouch!!! As I was saying last night, you need to alternate between putting your butt cheek in a bowl of ice water and a bowl of hot water. This will heal things up much quicker. idio will then tell you how you can post the video for our amusement!:p :p But good solid run in those underfoot conditions, not bad at all!:D

Flash kit? You could tell that Sunday's race was going to be a pretty serious affair, just in the milling about at the start, for that very reason. Not many posers but plenty of good runners!

Good match Idio (drat I miss my footy now - not that I ever scored 8 goals but I saved 8!) :D

I find I dont get bored, but I do count and I've had a lot going on elsewhere recently so its nice to have some thinking time :o, perhaps you could try audiobooks onto your mp3 player - a few people swear by those for longer runs :D

Does that mean I have to get rid of my gadgets to be a proper runner? :D
