Thanks guys - going to try out the 5k race on Saturday - and the good news is 1:43 pace for 400 m is about 6:52 pace per mile - which is way faster than I've ever done - so I do have speed just have to master the mental challenge of it!

Going out again tonight now its cleared up for a slower run - but I think I'm going to work in some faster laps to at least get the benefit of some speed work this week

    Happy running everyone!

EDIT: cross post with idio - nooooo I hate that song! If you want to cheer me up - dig out something good at least :D

becky, are you doing the intervals after a rest day? If not, I really think you should give this a try. If it's an area you're struggling with, give yourself plenty of rest before tackling it...

  • Well yesterday it started raining and melted the ice so I went for a 2 mile jog with the dog after work, did it in 25 minutes.
Just come in from another 2 miler (25 mins again) :)
Off to football training tonight with the missus, then tomorrow I'm having a restday from running, will just head to the gym for weights and a nice swim.

    Hi Beer tins!

I rest on Mondays and usually do intervals on Tuesday so yes - I was just doing an extra one this week because I'm going up to Leeds this weekend so can do my hill running there on proper Northern hills! :D

Wow you're getting a lot in there Raphael (always my favourite turtle too and one of my favourite painters :D) - good running!
  • TCHAIKOVSKY who, never heard of the fella.
I find running to iron maiden helps, the wonderful guitar solos just get me in a better state of mind and helps me to push myself that little bit more. Although when i did the 10km the other night when i smashed my times it was listerning to DC talk that helped me through it.

Um excuse me according to the map my run for 8 miles its an elevation change of 410 ft ascent and 410ft descent - I'd say that was quite a big hill and I'll be doing it 3 times!:eek::eek:

Cheek of it - dont start your northern hill wars with me :D

Glad to hear the limp is improving :D
