Yippee Gillz - 5k is a big milestone - so well done you!!! :D:D
  • hey guys ;) my training session didn't quite go to plan last night, mainly because all the treadmills were taken with people having a last minute panicky train for the Wilmslow half marathon this weekend  evil hoggers, run round the track! lol

Which meant i ended up having to try and get my 4 miles in on the cross trainer and bike? Which didn't really work coz the bike was measuring in miles and the cross trainer in kms, so i got a little lost with just how much i'd done :( i don't feel anywhere near as achy as i did after mondays walk, so i don't really feel last night was of any real help :( i did do all my weights though, and one of the instructors noticed that i'm finding it all a bit easier now so has made them all heavier! lol.

Anyway, as last night i didn't exactly feel the burn i think i'll be taking my pooch out for a big long walk tonight, and try to get a couple more miles in before going back to the gym tomorrow *sigh*

Hey Pink - that sucks - iits one of the reasons I run outside...how selfish of them grrrr

For your info 5k is 3.1 miles and 10k is 6.2 so if it said lik 2k thats roughly 1.2 miles

Enjoy your walk tonight though! And good news is you wont be panic training :D
  • LOL :rotfl: that is soooooo very true!!! I've just worked it out and think i only managed 2.5 miles which is fairly pants, but gonna get atleast the other 1.5 in tonight, and then i'll do my full 4 tomorrow.

Sundays supposed to be my first run, but not sure how much of it i'll run, when i got on the bike last night and it was in mph instead of kmh i realised just how much faster it is. Guess i'll just have to see what i can manage.

Gonna have another look at mapmyrun and see if i can sort myself a 4 mile circuit that stays well away from the marathon route, atleast it should be nice and quiet lol ;)

  • Hi everyone, it's quiet on here this evening. I hope that means you are all fit & well and out running. :D

I was lucky this evening, after an afternoon of rain it was dry when I left the office at 5.30 and I got to run home in lovely sunshine. It was still hard work though - every bit as hilly and hard on my legs as it was when I did it two weeks ago.

I'll know my fitness has come on in leaps and bounds when I can run this route without my leg muscles complaining. Not a bad run though and a nice way to unwind on the way home.

Well done simply thats some fast moving for a hill run :D

I was suffering my when I'm too busy at work and dont eat enough faintness earlier so had to eat dinner earlier than usual so am still deciding whether to go out tonight or tomorrow for my 13 miler - it doesnt make much difference in the grand scheme of things - except that tonight would be flatter but also late (cant really go for another hour...) hmmm
  • I have a confession to make - I don't check my pace on a hill run I just run to whatever is comfortable and concentrate on 'digging in' to get through the really hard parts. It's always a surprise when I get home and check my time/pace.

And what is this 'don't eat enough faintness' you speak of Becky? I don't think I've ever suffered that - I stuff my face too often. :rotfl: They laugh at me at work because I even take bananas to meetings with me to eat at coffee time!!

Hmmm, big decision to make about your run - full tums don't make for good runs do they?

Nah its okay I'll go tomorrow - thats the great thing about this stage in marathon build up - all you're doing is cementing whats there so you can relax if you miss a run or two because you've already done all the hard work...

I am terrible at the moment for forgetting to eat as I'm so busy - I still eat lunch but I should snack more with all the running I'm doing! I love bananas - I've had two today with my brekkie :D

I'm still out of it (running that is).....back is getting better but not there yet. I wore one of those heat patches on it today which did help, so I am going to put a hot wheat bag on it overnight and hope that it will be better enough to run tomorrow -if not, I am confident that I can do something at the weekend, because it really is a lot better than it was earlier in the week.

I think I am just worried about going back into it too quickly and doing more damage which would put me right out of FLM - best to have another day or two off now, in order that I can breeze round in 30 days time :D

Well done to everyone who IS getting out there.

Becky - I forget to eat too :o Life gets in the way of food at times!
