Glad your back is on the mend now H...these sports Physio peeps are fantastic aren't they. Im off to see mine hopefully for the last time (can't afford to keep this up) as the knees seem SOOOO much better :)

Rich I am getting very very excited about it now and the sponsorship seems to be coming in now which makes it all worth while....well that and all the training!

I'm soo pleased for you, Hypno - it is always such a relief when you get to know why you've been unable to perform as you would like.

It actually sounds quite a serious problem, but yet simple to correct - as you say spending £40 to access a person that has the knowledge to do that is an absolute bargain!:D

    Fighting fit shortly then!

There may also be a posting from Becky with a bit of good news shortly!;)

Good news - good physios are certainly invaluable.(if a little costly!)

And glad the enthusiasm is building - the anticipation is probably the best bit, a bit like Christmas!:p What time are you thinking in terms of now, Sally? Is 5 hours around the best estimate?

Sally, I am glad the knees are feeling better - perfect timing all round :T

I was actually expecting my session with the physio to be much more expensive - and whilst I wouldn't be able to pay out £40 twice a week for a long period of time, as an occasional necessity, I would certainly recommend it!

I would say, though, that I went to this guy on a personal recommendation, and his CV is most impressive (and fairly high profile) so I went in with confidence - I would always say check the person out if you can, first, because if they get it wrong, it could do more damage than you went with in the first place!

    Hello All!

So I'm allowed to carry on training :D:D:D

But there is an unusual line which could be a stress fracture so they've referred me for a bone scane just in case, and he advised me to eat more fat and more red meat because (sorry if this is TMI) my periods have stopped so I am more at risk of damage - so after the scan and follow-up they are likely to refer me to a dietician and sports physio (to look at my running style).

And my consultant called my journal his 'bible' which made me smile :D

Rich I think I am going to aim for 5 hours anything less will be a bonus but Im not going to get worried about it, I shall be enjoying the day, enjoying the run and finishing :)

Now question is,is it advisable or not for be to be able to swap the long runs.. I have 20,14,20,10, Marathon. Thing is I am working all day friday, sat and have a christening an hour away on sunday so there is no way I am going to get 20 miles in this weekend. Would it be ok to swap do 14 this weekend, and then 2 20's in a row? I don't want to overdo it so close to marathon, but equally I don't want to miss that 20 mile run

Even gentle 20 milers are quite demanding on the body, so I wouldn't advise you to be doing 2 in April before the marathon.

The majority of your work is now done, anything done in the last month is not going to dramatically change the outcome, so when in doubt err on the side of caution in the last month.
