(Rich is a freak and doesnt like cheese - weirdo)

Ha ha! Jonathan doesn't like cheese either, but he says the stuff on pizzas isn't real cheese so he'll eat that!

Quite a few weirdos around it seems!

Rich will eat melted cheese but not cheese - like brie, Camembert, cheddar the whole lot - cheese is a broad church and its all good (I'm a cheese fiend I'm afraid - but I dont drink milk so I have to get my calcium some how :D)

Hello Sunny - sorry about the ramblings :D

Um I presume you've never run before since you havent had running shoes?? We usually recommend beginners start with a solid foundation of walking so you're doing the right thing :D

How many weeks do you have before your race?? If you can fit in 4 weeks of walking (4-6 miles is perfect) 3 times a week before you start the plan that would be fantastic.

    Happy running/walking :D

HAHAHA you're already ahead of me when I started training - I could only run 5.25 miles :D

And its 7 months till Abingdon - but do what you feel comfortable with :D:D:D, you'll train better that way because the distance will scare you enough to make you go out but it wont terrify you into non action :D

6 months is the perfect training time actually - its enough time to get up to running 26.2 miles from very little but its only half of a year to devote to something and if you decide to stop after that then you can - so its a commitment but not a huge one - although the last 8 weeks are tough (mentally as well as physically) and I can almost guarantee once you do one you'll get hooked ;)

You can check it out here:
    http://www.abingdonamblers.co.uk/serve_page.phtml?static=home/home.phtml

The best bit is - its flat, the second best bit - its cheap (for a marathon anyway), the third best bit - a few of us are doing it so you wont have to go on you own :D

    EDIT: this link is better:
