This one's interesting - mainly for the bit at 2:30 in. I really don't know whether it's funny or a clear indication of just how low resources are at the end of a marathon (even for the highly trained).

And this is worth a watch:

    That's great Becky, thanks!! :A

Sammy - my plan is based on training 5 days a week. If you pm me your email address I'll send you the plan and you can see what you think.

thanks becky and simply.....(I have pm'd you) problem with my training is that OH works away so it depends on a babysitter for little one, but as the mornings are getting lighter and the nights too I can probably up from the three-four I do a week at the minute......

Not sure about a target time tbh! Just finish in one piece will do...:rotfl:

I'd managed to kid myself that a marathon wasn't very far, now they're all saying its a long way!:p :p

    I can't walk :rotfl:

My legs ache like crazy, and I can sort of shuffle about - walking up stairs is not pretty at all.........hopefully they will ease soon, but I fear they will feel worse tomorrow before they start to feel better:o

Happy running to anyone getting out there today - my aim is just to survive work

    Hypno, just don't fight it.

Muscles tighten up to stop you using them until the fibres can knit back together - but the good news is that they will repair to be a good bit stronger.

You're right that tomorrow will probably be worse and it will be about Friday before you stop noticing any soreness at all.

Gentle walking is the best thing you can do (when you get to the stage where you can!).

You now need to get one of those masseurs that Uk was going on about and line up people to pamper you for the next few days!:D :D

Oh believe me, rich, gentle walking will be all I attempt today!

I suppose I have to be reminded of the fact that not that long ago I felt almost this sore when I did my first 5 miler.......so I have come a long way since then.

How are your muscles after yesterday's race......if you say that they still feel fresh, I will probably head over and kill you :rotfl:

    Morning!

Ooo sorry you're stiff Hypno - I was like that last week - but a bit of gentle running does help ease it out if you can face it tomorrow...

I am tired today - only ran 45 miles last week so not sure why, but going to do a nice gentle one this evening to ease me back into the week :D

    Happy running all!
