Our local race for life is the Saturday after FLM........I know it is only 5km but I think I will still be struggling to walk at that stage!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hypno, you'll be surprised - you'd probably have a flyer if you went for it!
I've specifically targeted the Wimbledon 5K on 11th April (6 days after the marathon) for that very reason.
You get a speed 'kick back' from a marathon plus a few day's rest - its all to do with the repair systems going into overdrive, preparing for loads of work that you're not actually doing!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

I WILL be doing the race for life, even though it is close to FLM - my DD does it too, and my student will join in this year as well. One year I decided to do a race for life later in the year, and went to Cambridge instead......but it was the hottest day of the year 36 degrees......and was incredibly tough! So I would much prefer to do the early one again!
If I have a flyer, I will be very pleased.......in fact, anything under 32 mins would be an improvement on my previous best!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I haven't managed to get out by myself (been out with preschooler) so I have done an hour on the stepper. I plan to go for a long walk tomorrow. Is it OK to use the stepper instead of a walk?0
