HAHAHA actually the woman in front of me ran the whole way with her dalmatian - she was a beautiful dog - I was mighty annoyed when they passed me so thats a target for next week
And oh yeah Rich - opppps had a bit too many bubbles yesterday
Hehe I wouldn't worry about being passed by a dalmation - they are built for purpose!!

Almost.........it certainly felt like I was crawling at that pointSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
And wow this girl has made some amazing progression:
First Race - 30th August 31:00
Yesterdays Race - 7th March - 20:58
And shes 14!!! Wow there are some good runners at that Wimbledon race actually - its really inspiring for me
My DD is 14 and her best 5k time is 28 mins....I have just shown her this post and told her to get a move on!!! She now reckons she will do our race for life in May in 20 mins...........:rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. That is some progress!
Coupled with the amazing 14 year old in our race last week (sub 16mins:eek: ) maybe the youth of today is not as bad we would imagine!
There was an interesting character one place in front of her, Clive Tulloh, responsible for producing a lot of BBC1 programmes. Oh, and his brother just happens to be one of the most famous people in running circles and was European 5000m champion.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

I wouldn't want to put any more training pressure on her, becky - she already skis to National level and is grading next weekend for her final belt before black belt in karate, so she trains for that 3 or 4 times a week too.
Running is something she is naturally quite good at, and her general fitness helps - she likes doing the 800m at school, but doesn't really try for it. They run as part of their ski training - up to 3 miles in the mountains in the winter. .....and she is no stranger to the dreaded bleep test, so I dare say she COULD do a fast 5k if she put her mind to it......perhaps once she has got her black belt out of the way she might be tempted!
Besides.....I want to be able to do 28 mins first! THEN she can race away from me!!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Fair enough Hypno - jeez your kids must be soooo busy - where do they the energy for it all???
Tee hee you could run 28 minutes now I reckon - shame there arent any events near you to try them out0 -
well now you lot have woke me up...
Time for my weekly mega fry up.
with about 6 slices of toast and a litre of pure orange.
then let it settel for 3 hours then 10m of hills to look forward to. With the added bonus of the weather forcast keeps changeing between heavy rain or heavy snow. good times :T .Cabbage Patch 09 - 10m - 1hr 06mLeicester 09 -1/2 - 1h 26m0 -

I hadn't looked at the weather forecast since its perfect at the moment with nice clear blue skies.
But it would appear that heavy snow from midday, and lasting the rest of the day, is on the cards.
