Thats whats i did last sunday hypno.
Just went for a run and seen where i ended up...was the best run i have had up to now. no time running, no route just getting on with it. Really enjoyed it.
as for water lol... anything over 10k i need some.. Morrisons have like 32p energy drink things. work a treat if you ask me. up to 13m anyway above that might want to go with a real energy booster!!!Cabbage Patch 09 - 10m - 1hr 06mLeicester 09 -1/2 - 1h 26m0 -
My children use camelbaks when they are ski training, but they don't appeal to me. I am generally ok up to about 13 or 14 miles, but last week it was quite sunny, and once I started to lick my lips because they were dry, the added sweat and heat meant that I really noticed the lack of water around me! Psychological, maybe, but it didn't do me any favours!
Uk, I did an evening "see where you end up" run last week and it was great - no expectations, and I really enjoyed it.....I hope that tomorrow is like that, (for about 20 miles :rotfl: ) All I have is my starting point.........Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Chickadee - Congratulations on becoming an Aunt to Charlotte Joan.
JJ Congratulations on passing your fitness test.
Hypno well done on getting your boss to match for match your fundraising.
Pink and Rustybucket brilliant weight losses and Pink glad your leg is on the mend.
Melika, Seaxwyn and Webitha. Hello I'm new too (day 5). Webitha 20/25minutes runs are impressive for a beginner. Well done. You should give yourself a pat on the back.
Well I did an hour on my stepper this evening and plan to get in a long walk in this weekend.0 -
It was a busy old day on here yesterday.:D
A few new names as well - so welcome to Seaxwyn, Webitha and Mellika.
Webitha - Plenty time for a 10K build up so good luck with that.
Ukevas - Impressive week there. Those intervals will certainly get the muscles developing.
Rusty - 10 miles on a day like yesterday must have been very enjoyable.:D
Simply - Hope the plan isn't too scary! Its actually very gradual, Becky has been kind to you:p , but you have plenty time so you can build up slowly and still be well ready for Abingdon.
Hypno - Try not to get lost on your 'see where you get' run:p . If I see you running past my place I'll give you a wave.:D
Today is another Parkrun 5K day - Becky in Wimbledon (can't wait for the online piccies again), me in Leeds, so will report back later on the outcomes.
I get the feeling there will be a lot of miles run this weekend, so good luck to everyone and enjoy what looks like pretty good running weather.:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Arghhhh at least let me vet them this time before you stick them up
Oh and if anyone lives near Bushy Park and can be there for 9am - Liz Yelling is going to be there signing autographs and starting the race0 -
Morning guys - to one side of my house is sunshine, and to the other is a lovely selection of dark grey clouds.........I hope the clouds pass fairly quickly!
I'll be heading off once I have dropped the children at the ski club, so I have a couple of hours......I will report back later.
Good luck becky and rich on your 5ks - I expect we will see more super fast times, and good luck to everyone else putting in the miles todaySuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Forgot to pop in and update on thursay.
Did 6.2miles (10.03kms) according to mapmyrun, but was not mapped to detail so prob a little more. Had to climb over a large metal gate, and tripped twice on uneven pavements splitting the front of my trainer.
Wonder if i can get some ££ out the council to repair / replace them as im getting sick of tripping on the damn things.
Put in a good time of 1hr 03mins & 27secs, inc time to climb gate (with spikes on), and to fall, get up, examine damage and carry on . At the end, calf in left leg was starting to burn and legs were getting like jelly.
Was the first time id knocked 6miles out in 1 go, was always 3miles - stop for 1mins - 2miles.
Been a bit achy yesterday and today, hopefully put in a 3miler tomorrow or something to keep things rolling.
Lincoln 10k 29th March, so best keep pressing on..
Next choice...
What to wear, and how to look cool.?0 -

Sat7/3 ParkRun Leeds Hyde Park 5K 19:40 (6:20/mile) (http://www.parkrun.com/Default.aspx?tabid=257 , Event 74, Posn 9th/140)
Very pleased with today's race at 19:40. Despite it not being quite the fastest, the last 3 races have been 19:37, 19:34, 19:40, it certainly felt the best - really strong and controlled. It is purely the 180ish miles in the last 2 weeks which is preventing the times falling further.
Considering this is marathon training, and not 5k training, it all looks good.:D
9th place was encouraging too. There was actually a small section where I actually led the race, which led to a wry smile when I thought back to being obese 6 months ago!:p
Becky has run a good 30 secs quicker than last week, which is brilliant, but we'll have to wait for full details when she posts later!:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Nice milestone achieved there, Alias!
A continuous 6 miles shows real progress, so keep it going - it should start to feel easier and more enjoyable from here!:D
How to look cool? Whatever do you want to do that for?:pGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

On the clothing note, how do i look cool.
I run with old trainers, now that have split a little on the front due to the trip, and bought a nike dry fit jacket off eBay for £14 this week.
Have loads of t-shirts, just the bottoms. I currently run in tracksuit bottoms, with my adidas trainers ive had for about 2 years, there a little worn on the sole now.
Have a waist band of water that i bought for £4 off eBay, has 3x fruit shoot size bottles and a nice pouch. Then the iPod to go on the arm.
Its a 10k road race, but a 10k fun run to me and hopefully about an hour.0
