    Hey Mellika,

Dont worry - there's no rush and you wont make of a fool of yourself - trust me I looked terrible when I first started and even now I have flashes of 'oh my god the runners are laughing at me'!

But seriously, when I see people out there giving it a go - walknig or running - I think to myself - good on them for getting some exercise, but they are soo going to be addicited soon :D

    Hope you feel better soon!

Take your time, mellika and work within your limits (pushing them slightly from time to time!) and you will see mega-improvements!

It's not a race (as such).....and it takes us all different amounts of time to get to certain levels. The main thing is that you are getting fitter and more healthy all the time!

    Hello Webitha :D

Glad to hear you're starting out - 25 mins is no mean feat you know, so dont belittle your efforts! When I started I couldn't run to the end of the street either :D

GNR is a half marathon so 13 miles - perhaps it might be good to pick a 5k (3.1 miles) or 10K (6.2 miles) race to start with to give you a mid point to work towards :D

Do you have any idea how far you are running in 25 minutes??

    Oh and some useful tools:
mapmyrun.com - great for searching for other peoples run and measuring your own
runnersworld.co.uk - good for searching for races

Use mapmyrun as becky recommends - it'll be far more accurate than a pedometer...and it's free!

(or, buy a garmin GPS watch - even more accurate, but certainly not free :D)

Well I can certainly confirm interest. If I get fit enough that is! Would be great to have a "club" meet.
