Just had another of those 'WOW' moments!:D
The high mileage has started to translate into speed well and truly now, and boy did it feel good!
Learning from last week I put an additional warm up mile in at 7:04 to try to get some more elasticity into the muscles. It worked perfectly!
So this was easily the best interval session so far with an average of 5:54 (previous best 6:12) and a fastest mile of 5:49 (previous best 5:59).
Well done on tonight's runs Ukevas, Becky and Simply! It looks like everyone is heading in the right direction!:D
This really is worth a WOW! Fantastic running Rich. :T

I think your intervals were impressive enough last night - no trudging for you!:D

Well done so far FMN. 17 miles is no mean feat - good luck for tomorrow. I did 17 on Saturday, very slowly, and really enjoyed it. I hope you do too.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Thank you chickadee, I am actually really looking forward to it! I did 15 on my own last week (with lots of podcasts) but I'm running very slowly with a friend tomorrow. I hope it will be good. Hi all, did a 4.28 miler today (or last night it will be now, blinking night shifts  )
I used a new timer (on a pedometer) and didn't realise it won't display seconds  I got back in 39 minutes so am slowly shaving off the seconds
Must invest in a decent stop-watch, at the moment I just use my mobile, and I don't like to take it out with me, so of course I'm also timing locking the door and getting back in the house on my return.
I'd love a Garmin, but too pricey for me!
I'm thinking of looking for a short race to run before the PHM, any ideas where to search??Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

sorry for not reporting in last night.......but I did 7.5 miles in 77.40 so am very happy with that after a week off - and even better to report that my new trainers gave me no problems

I will be heading out again this evening.
Raphael - head over to the runnersworld.co.uk site - they have a list of all the events, long and short, in your area in the next few months and it is probably the best place to start looking! Nice work, Hypno.:D
What a relief that must be - hopefully the feet will heal up pretty quickly now and you can get on with regular training.:D
Good luck FMN with the 17 miles - it sounds like your preparation for FLM is coming along nicely.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

thanks rich - it was such a relief not to be constantly aware of very painful feet! I could quite happily have carried on running yesterday, it was a lovely evening for it, but I want to do 8 or 10 this evening so didn't want to do too much last night for fear of then not doing anything today!
I was annoyed at having to spend more money that I cannot really afford on some new trainers just 6 weeks after buying a new pair, but if last night is anything to go by, it was money well spent!
FMN - 17 miles - that is the sort of distance I am aiming for at the weekend, so good luck today!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Fantastic Hypno that the trainers are great - Money well spent

I have a 6 mile time trial this morning....lets see how [STRIKE]fast[/STRIKE] slow I am :rotfl:
Happy running everyoneI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....
