To be honest, I think it is just a case of "my feet and the shoes don't get on" - because I overpronate, and have flattish feet, I, quite rightly, was given shoes with the required support. Unfortunately, the "in thing" for the support at the moment is a solid block, which I don't get on with, so I needed to look at a shoe without the block but still with the support and there aren't so many of them about nowadays.

But obviously a lot of people DO get on with the "blocks" because otherwise they wouldn't keep selling them, presumably.

So, I will put it down to experience - and to be perfectly honest, the last pair I bought are actually very comfortable for walking and for shorter distances, so I will probably still wear them if I go to the gym or go out on my bike or whatever, so they will get used.

I just hope that these are going to do the job - they are the 2009 version of the ones I had in the early 90s which saw me through 2 marathons, so hopefully they will reward me for my (belated) loyalty!
