60 miles, eh? Not bad for a lazy gal!:p
Interesting question, but the challenging part of that aim would be the first interval - first aim would be to achieve an average beginning with a '5' I think! And even that will be tough!:D

Did it feel good or was it a case of you pushed harder than any session before?
Morning Rich, Yes I was really pleased with it. I knew I was pushing it on the first interval and started to feel a bit chesty, like I couldn't clear my throat, but after that it was OK. Interestingly, I read Paula's book this weekend and took a few tips from that. (Pain is good and all that stuff.) It was also the first time on for my new bright pink running jacket, and strange though it may sound, it is lighter weight and less bulky than my other one, if that makes a difference. Also, I had just had a really good meeting at work.
All contributing I suppose, but I was just feeling faster and fitter at the end of the day. Onwards and upwards!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

It is certainly the case that your mood affects your ability to run at speed, and that can be either negative or positive. Chemicals released into the bloodstream must somehow affect oxygen uptake and therefore maximum energy output.
So it is entirely reasonable to suppose that your good meeting had an effect.
Does Paula say 'pain is good'? Silly girl!:p Pain hurts!:o
I assume that she's referring to the strain of effort in intervals and races when you need to push as oppose to real pain!
But you can't complain at feeling 'faster and fitter' at any time - it sure beats 'slower and fatter'.:pGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Well, she does talk a lot about 'good pain' and 'bad pain' but to me none of it is good!
I was born to be a plodder, not a record-breaker.
