Whoop Whoop Haley!!! Well done on the first run - distance doesnt matter at this stage - its just about getting out there, good to hear the dog was okay to run with :D:D
  • she was fine, she must have realised i was being serious as she didnt try to bite my feet at all, cant find her at the mo, think she's crashed out upstairs :)

am i correct in leaving it until weds for another run or should i go out again tomorrow??

I'd leave it till weds Haley - but only because if you go too mad at the start you can get put off - dont be surprised if you're a little stiff tomorrow - but by weds your body will have recovered enough to go for another run :D! Even us crazy 50 miles a week runners have rest days - and we're highly trained (apparently ;))

Wearing the dog out eh! Nice one :D
  • thanks, thats what i thought i would do. am starting to stiffen up a bit now but will give the dog a good walk tomorrow which will help.

  • Evening all, theres been some good running/walking going on today.
Back in from my run, didnt want to push too hard after todays circuit so i set out on doing a 15km slow one but it ended up as a 10km in 1:15:00 my slowest yet so should keep Becks happy.

Any chance you could squeeze my race in on 24th May? Plymouth Half Marathon :)

Only did 3 runs last week, a very easy slow 1 mile with a running novice on Mon, Tuesday very hilly 5.33 miles and Friday a nice flat 4.28 miles.

I'm wanting to run further now, should I stick at 5ish miles for a couple more weeks? Or increase a little?

I've also had a little bad news, the Half Marathon run course I was signed up on has been cancelled, only 3 people in the whole of Plymouth wanted to do it  and they can't run the course with those low numbers. Oh well :(

Some excellent running as always! Well done to everyone, especially those who are stepping out for the first time :T

I am tentatively saying that I will go for a run this evening.......I have to take DS to the theatre for a school trip, and pick him up 2 hours later, so that gives me a good opportunity to park the car somewhere and go for a reasonable length slow steady run (depending on my feet, of course).......I will report in later this evening.

  • Good Morning, running aficionados!:D :D

Chick - Wow, that has taken you on another big step! Projected 10K time now 50:36! In other words, the next time you have a crack at a flattish 10K you have every chance of ducking under the magical barrier!:D :D Did it feel good or was it a case of you pushed harder than any session before?

Evanesco - More of the same and you'll soon starting feeling fitter, and stronger!:D

Sally - It seems like you coped with the 16 miles pretty well with little in the way of after effects. Good luck with the intervals.

Haleygrey's Dog - Keep pestering your owner to take you for runs!:D

JJ - well done on discovering 'low intensity' running:D , although I think it will take a bit more than that to keep Becky happy, she's very demanding (and bossy!)!;)

Raphael - Race in May noted! 5 miles is above the 'training effect threshold' so you will get plenty improvement from runs around that distance. Keep it there until you feel comfortable to push the distance higher.

Happy running Hypno and anyone else planning jaunts today!:D :D

    Morning All!

A little stiff still this morning, but danced most of it out last night practising some salsa and ballet/gym moves, did a nice easy 4 this morning - varied pace to kick out the last stiffness, but never above 9 minute miling!

Going to do a nice slow 10 this evening and intervals tomorrow morning as I may not have time to run tomorrow night :(

Happy running all (ignoring Rich's comment - wont sink to his level!)

I've switched sessions around today (due to having a rather long sleep :p ), so the easy 10K this morning and intervals this evening all being well!:D

Glad you're well on the mend Becky!:D :D
