Sammy_Girl - probably very sensible of you not to pay upfront, I just thought it would be easier but looking back I could have probably got a better deal elsewhere. Nothing much even needs doing, I went to my BMs house last night to pick up the dress and the skirt fits perfectly (I have told myself that the zip mustnt have done up in October as clearly I have lost weight lol), the skirt does probably need shortening so that I can walk properly. The corset I would like taking in a bit at the middle. So not much work needs doing. I still need to get a veil but theres no way I am paying CC prices, I will try some on to get an idea and will then be straight on ebay!!

SmlSave - thanks I will let you know how it goes, but as you say, no point worrying about it, the bank holiday is here to be enjoyed. I like what I see out of the window - clear sunny skies so in a couple of hours time I will be on my terrace enjoying the weather and naughty bbq food :)

Trying to get my H2B to sort out his suit hire is a nightmare - the only job he has to do and I have sent him a few links and he still hasnt looked at it!! Has everyone else sorted theirs yet?

    Well Guys,
I know have everything officially booked!!!!!!! My OH has FINALLY done all of his jobs. Still have few little things left to do like make up favour boxes but nothing major to worry about :D

Its the one thing that OH did straight away..wish I could get him doing everything else!

Has everyone found that the venue, florist and photographer don't want to finalise details till end of June/beginning of July? I feel like I want it all done now!

We paid off the balance of the suit hire today, there was a little lad in the shop trying his suit on and it was the same as OHs, I got quite excited, made it all very real seeing one on someone and seeing all the details in the shop's book :rotfl:

We're waiting on the photographer to come over now to have a chat, he was meant to be here between 7pm and 8pm and it's now 7.50pm, can't have tea until he's been (Oh yes, that's a lovely album, sorry it's covered in curry now!)...doesn't bode well for the day if he's late, and he's not rung to say he isn't coming......relax woman!

    Hi Ladies,

Blonde - I hope your photographers arrived now lol.

I've been trying to type up the order of service today so that I can get it sent off to the printers. Got really quite excited when I was typing it out. Didn't get it finished tho - pesky work lol

Hope you all had a good bank hol weekend. I was attempting crazy paving in my garden and its bl**dy hard work!!! My legs are aching so much from all the digging. But I was out there in my bikini top and caught a lovely bit of sun. I am now completely paranoid about wearing vest tops as I don't want any strap marks when I wear my strapless wedding dress. So from now on its strapless tops or tops with long sleeves for the next 3 months :rotfl:

Just waiting for my tea and then Britain's Got Talent. I love that show lol

Boob tubes for you Sammy_girl. Glad you got some sun it rained up here:rolleyes: for a change!!
Tracked down a cream taxi cab (proper London cab type) a few weeks ago & sent hime a message, he finally got back to me today, very apologetic about the delay but unfortunately he has gotten big adverts on the side of the cab which he thinks would spoil it for a wedding. I've asked him to pass my details onto anyone else he knows if the have a cream or white taxi:confused: not sure what else to do. I have asked a few people to keep there eye's open and asked people to ask taxi driver friends, so keep your fingers X'd please.
1 so called friend (now ex after an incredibly racist email sent for a joke!!!) was looking into it for me as her oh is a taxi driver. Said there weren't any in Dundee but her oh could do it in his taxi for £50 , erm sorry it's just a normal taxi be lucky if it would be £10 on the clock I'm not paying him £50 just cos I'll have a nice frock on! She said he would DJ for me mates rates & all that:rolleyes: the price went up from £100 to £150 in 3 weeks I've seen his ad & he normally charges £120. This was all a couple of month's ago and I didn't expect special treatment as we weren't close friends but I defenitely did not expect to be ripped off. Lucky the venue have their own dj anyway so that problem solved itself.

Oh and we have no photographer either. The woman who we were going to get to do it never responded to my emails:confused: We really can't afford much but it would have been nice to have something nice to look at to remember the day. I'm sure family & friends will take some lovely ones anyway.
Oh blimey that was a long post sorry girls x Vi

hiya girls. we've been busy invites and info packs handed out -was quite exciting getting them ready. my little brother is going to be hubby to be's best man and he is delighted. we got some extra purple flowers to add to the lovely cream foam bouquets we got cheap off ebay.

violetta - have you checked if any of the private hire taxi firms have any white / cream nice cars. you could get a ribbon etc off ebay. or try an add on gumtree / freecycle asking for someone with a classic car to take you to the wedding - they might like the excuse to get their car out. perhaps dundee has a classic car club you could appeal to.

photos - dundee must have a photography course. try contacting the college looking for someone to do it for free for their portfolio or ask on gumtree / freecycle again. it's worth a try.
 married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-09:love:

Thank's Chardonnay, hadn't thought of a classic car club, will have a look then maybe ring round all the cab company's. re the photo's I emailed the college art dept & local photography club no-one ever replied? Will maybe try again & will look into gumtree & freecycle.
We got the last of our day invites posted earlier today, I'd walked past about 4 portboxes today & forgot I had them in my bag to post, so after I picked my daughter up from nursery we took a walk to the postbox. she was so cute posting them 1 by 1 and saying dear Aunty such and such please come to my mummy's & daddys & mines party. Took ages for her to post them too!!
    Booo!!!

Hi MrsShaigh *wave* How are the plans coming?

My invites, while very pretty, have been somewhat of an embaressment :o I had to ring my uncle yesterday and beg forgivness as I had put the wrong name down for his partner :o

I hope you find the car you want Violetta, wouldn't have thought a white/cream taxi would be so hard to find!

How did the crazy-paving go Sammy?
