Calling All August 2009 Brides!!!

Well hello Ladies,

I thought I would start a new thread for all August 2009 brides. Aimee is doing a wonderful job in keeping the 2009 Bride list going, but I thought it would be nice to have a specific August 2009 brides thread, as I particularly need to keep a track of what I'm doing, and am hoping that you ladies can keep me on the straight and narrow!!

Right, in exactly 7 months time I will be married :eek: , and at this time I will probably be drunk, dancing to some god awful cheesy tune :rotfl:

So far, I have done the following:

Booked Church and paid deposit
Booked Reception and paid deposit
Bought dress (hanging in MIL2B's wardrobe)
Booked 2 Wedding Taxis and paid deposit
Booked photographer and paid deposit
Booked videographer and paid deposit
Booked DJ and paid deposit
Chosen 5 BMs :eek: ....and bought 1 dress and 5 pairs of shoes lol
Bought tiara
Booked honeymoon and paid deposit (booked in married name, so I must not, must not, MUST NOT forget to get my passport changed

So that's not a bad list, I reckon. Note a lot of deposits paid but not much else.....so am saving madly. We're about three quarters of our budget saved, so we're on the right track!

Still have loads to do - accessories, favours, flowers, hotel, hair etc etc etc

So, would any August Brides To Be like to join me, so that we're not in a last minute panic in July

Oooo I'd like to join I have 220 days to my wedding and lots to do, so far have:-
Booked & paid deposit for wedding venue, reception and accommadation (all in one)
Booked and paid deposit for minister
Booked and paid deposit for Photographer
Ordered my wedding shoes
having our cake bought by very nice friends
2nd reception is been booked and paid for by my lovely grandma
got a price for a dress that I want found lots to sell on ebay fingers crossed I can get it

Just out of interest when do you start the fittings for you wedding dress? My sister's had here's on order since late august last year and it was supposed to arrive in shop this month.

15th August 09 for my big day.. and im getting more and more nervous/excited by the day.

Up to now...

Wedding Breakfast/Evening Reception/DJ/ Bridal Suite - Deposits Paid
Church - Deposits Paid
Dress/Tiara/Veil - Final choice made this sunday (mum&dad paying )
5 BM's - Dresses picked this sunday
Flowergirls dress (dd) paid for - £14
OH's suit and others suits - now chosen
Rings - Paid for - £31
Flowers - Done (by myself) - £45
Invites - Paid for - £25
Order of Service/Menu Cards/Save the Date Cards - £4 for all of them
Shoes - Paid for - £20
Cake - Wedding Gift made by Oh's grandma - should be £1500 :eek:
Favours - Done- £40 for 100

Nic - what date is your wedding - sounds like it's a week before mine!

Linzismummy - you're my wedding twin lol!!! 15th Auguts - we now officially have under 7 months t go lol

Sherbie, I'm starting my wedding dress fittings in March. I bought my dress at the end of August and because it was a sample I took it home so I can peep whenever I like lol. Maybe give it a couple more weks and then call up the shop??

I forgt to say that my BM shoes arrived yesterday! Very excited. I just need to get round to all 5 BMs now to make sure they fit lol

So what is everyone's colour theme? Mine's ivory and gold

My date is the 8th August which is nearly 200 days away now- how sad am I for knowing that!?

Got most of the stuff sorted now- just little bits like my MOH's dress and accessories and my shoes, the rings etc.

On the up side, we booked our honeymoon at the Weekend...where is everyone else going?

Hi Guys, I would like to join as well ) I just booked all of mine yesterday. Im getting married August 15th!!!
So Far only confirmed venue (Paying deposit on Sunday)
Confirmed Photographer (deposit on the way)
Found my dress and bridesmaid dresses
Ive found a person on ebay who can do all my flowers but Im having some trouble with them at the moment.

I dont think Im doing too bad considering only got enagaged on Christmas Day )

Val - same day as me. I can't wait til we get under the 200 day mark!!

Congrats on booking the honeymoon Aimee. Where are you going? I was so excited when we booked ours. We're having a multi-trip - New York, Orlando and Miami :j I cannot wait. It's by far the most extravagant holiday we've ever had - we're normally a 2 week in Spain couple lol.

I booked through Trailfinders, and Simon was absolutely fab. He made sure we got honeymoon upgrades and discounts wherever possible.

This weekend, I am going to try and get on with BM stuff. Lovely BM shoes from Office arrived. I now have to travel down to Portsmouth tomorrow so that one of my BMs can try them on to see if they fit. I got her 2 pairs, so the pair that don't fit have to be returned lol. Ah well, at least it will be a day down the coast. My dog will enjoy it!!

Ooh sounds nice. We are doing a 6 day tour round Sri Lanka followed by 9 nights in a beach hotel. I have always wanted to go and managed to get a good discount so it all came under budget. Have you been to NY before?

Hi sammy girl, our wedding day is 23rd August, had too correct it then keep putting and saying to everyone my wedding day :rotfl:
we got the vows through yesterday which was lovely should say them right with 8 months to practice
have decided for favours to get top hat boxes for the men and handbag boxes for women just have decided what to put in them now

val 84 - you are doing well I got engaged 2000 8 years and 2 months ago
