faye? I saw MIL's wedding outfit yesterday :confused:I don't like it  It's grey and dull - am I putting too much empathis on it?

    :rotfl:

You really have to be strict with these MIL's lol. Our wedding party is ivory and gold and my mum is in champagne so I told MIL that really she should go for a taupey colour so that she's matching the rest of the party :D Unfortunately, this did mean that I had to go shopping with her to pick out her outfit - but she did choose a very nice outfit

I am soooooooooooo excited - I got my first RSVP today :) The dog did get to it before I did, so it has a couple of bite marks in it, but nonetheless it is my first RSVP. Plus its a proper card that they bought in a shop and everything!! Gotta love Aunty Pat :D

When we were doing our invites I did think that we should have done RSVP cards as well, but I just wanted to get them out - so I do regret that now. SmlSave - I will try and get a piccie - but silly me didn't print off a keepsake one! Even my poor mum had to have one without the nice ribbon cos I ran out lol. We haven't done the evening invites yet so when I do I will take a piccie and post it up.

Violetta, I am sooooo wobbling about BM dresses. I got an email from Landy and it turns out Grace doesn't work there anymore and could I send them a picture of the dress that I ordered in Oct  I now have visions of the 4 dresses I order now totally not matching the one we ordered for my sister - so I am leaning towards the BHS ones - although thank you for the check on the zips - that's not sounding good.

Every post I do on here seems to turn into an essay. I don't know why - I spend so much time on the computer at work you'd think I'd want to switch off when I get home lol.

Anyways, hope you are all enjoying this fabulous sunshine. I'm sitting in teh garden as I type. God bless WiFi :D

What age are your bridesmaids? if it's girls try debenhams they have some nice ones on the website outlet they really are much nicer in real life. We ended up getting my daughter this dress which really looks like nothing in the photo but was absolutely gorgeous on. But then my dd would look lovely in a tatty sack (Me biased? don't know what you mean?)
If they are older Jayjay posted earlier about nice dress's in Primark for £14 which has got to be worth a look. Either that or buy a load and flog em on ebay?
My tiara came today ordered it online so was desperate to see it. I love it and starting to get excited now.
    Booo!!!

Glad you got a nice outfit with your MIL Sammy, even if it did mean shopping with her. I hope my MIL got the idea that she needs to brighten up her outfit (or pick a new one)

Yay for your first RSVP too :T I think its nice that you got a card too, I can see my lot just emailing me. I really did want my invitations done sooner but its just not happening, OH doesn't seem to see the rush and hasn't finished off the design for printing yet

I did see some lovely dresses in BHS this week and my own BM's dresses come from Debenhams.

I will finish the vouchers tonight...

    Hi Sml :hello:

Just been lurling on your MFW thread. I didn't get very far tho - pesky work lol. Have you managed to make any overpayments? Our mortgage company is really random in that we can only make overpayments in lump sums of £2k - as if we regularly have £2k lying round! Anyways, I have my mortgage tin whereby any loose bits of change found in handbag, sofa, H2bs jeans (lol) goes. Its a Quality Street tin and its very heavy now! Plus our fixed rate just ended and we're now saving £350 a month :j so that's going straight into the overpayment pot.

H2B called me and we have another 3 RSVPs that came today:) Tbh, I was expecting more email ones but I haven't had any yet. So the 4 that we have already are from my side ;)

Violetta, all by BMs are oldies. Oldest being Chief Hen Em at a grand old 35 :D. I'm gonna bite the bullet and order them off BHS today - I already have them in a shopping basket online but the total is £400, so I'm trying to work out which card to use lol. Bit annoyed as one BM is a size 20, and they had them in stock last night - but now the largest available size is an 18. So I may just have to order that one and hope she fits in :o

Hope you're all having fun in the sun. Just been for a drive on my lunchbreak and it cleared the cobwebs!

Its a rather rambling thread isn't it Sammy? We are only allowed to overpay in January, upto 10% - as if! So we've got saving accounts where the to be over payments go, one 'matures' in June/July and there should be about £2000 in there :j My whisky bottle is full too, I just have to count it and put in an ISA.

Werid, wouln't it be nice if you did have £2k just lying around though?

I printed off my vouchers this morning and the b****y things don't line up  back to the laptop tonight then...

  • well I've had a hell of a night tonight

at 5pm today i got a text from a friend of mine to tell me to phone out wedding party venue up and speak to them about the wedding plans... thought that was a bit strange so i called her and asked why? she heard that the place was closing THIS SUNDAY !!!!!!!!! argghhhhhh !!!!

anyway, couldnt get hold of the owner so after work tonight i went to the venue and was told the rumour was correct, staff were told on wednesday that they were finished after Sunday :(:( I'm in bits thinking !!!!!!?????

luckily enough i went to another venue i was told had just re-opened - well lucky for us the venue wasnt booked, the place is lovely and the catering is going to be cheaper than the original venue - only thing we have to pay extra on is for the DJ - but I dont mind that as they have agreed that we can have all we was promised at our original place

i would of been on here panicking like mad with just over 3 months to go but now I'm a happy bunny that I got things sorted so quickly :)

    Hi Guys,

Ive been a bit rubbish recently with replying on this board. Its now 112 days till us august 15th Brides!!!!!! Much fun.

Most of you I think have seen my other post on thursday, ive just been told Im being given redundancy and after 2 days sinking in I am much happier about it, We may even be able to have a little honeymoon....not ideal with the job situation but with everything else that has happened I think i would rather spend a bit having a break.

Now I need to decide on a new career as OH wasnt impressed with my part time job suggestion of working tuesdays  lol.

Bluemeanie that's awful I can imagine how stressed you got, but so brilliant you managed to get everything sorted with another venue PHEW. Di you loose any money ie deposit at the old venue, is the new one nice.
val-84 I'd seen your other thread, gutted for you but it seems like your on top of things. perhaps your oh would be more amenable to you working wednesdays, tuesdays a funny day lol! Hope everything works out for you.
    Booo!!!
  • Hi Violetta x luckily enough we hadnt paid anything for our old venue (we knew the owners) but now in a way (after thinking about it) the new venue maybe too small, even though the first thing I checked was capacity :(:( my H2b has been on nightshift so when he wakes up after I will talk to him over it
