It is a bit scary, but in a good way
My underskirt came this morning, am looking forward to trying it on with the dress on Monday when my friend comes to play dress up:rotfl:0 -
It is a bit scary, but in a good way
Totally agree with that
Good news - my dress is ready, apparently it had been ready for a while but they'd forgot to call me *rolls eyes* So I'm picking it up after work so I know its safe at MIL's.
Guess I'll have to go underwear shopping soon....Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

I'm suddenly VERY excited again! 3 months is nothing :rotfl:
Have you got much left to do? I'm looking at my to-do list and it's shorter than I thought it would be, most of it is buy presents or waiting for other people to do stuff0 -
I have sooooo much to do hun. What about you?0
-
I really don't think I've got that much left to do.
This morning I did my hair and put the tiara and veil on, and I had a go at doing my makeup as well using tips from someone on youtube - Panacea81 - (I got her name off the YAYW forum!)
I wasn't sure about the makeup when I took a couple of pics of myself, but my phone's camera isn't great. None of my friends said anything about it when I saw them earlier and they're the sort to tell me if I look silly :rotfl: Was made up with my hair though, I've had visions of my bob not being all bushy on the day so I was much calmer when I saw a pic of it with all the gubbins in, didn't dare keep the photo in case OH spotted it though
Put my favours together yesterday, and my tablecloths arrived this morning.
3 MONTHS!!!!!:j0 -
I have booked my hair trial for 2 weeks time in the half term hols. It will be a busy one- got to get bridesmaid dress and shoes, my shoes, suits for men, order favours, see florist, hair and make up trial and god knows what else!
Am meeting with caterers tommorow and next Friday (for a taste!) then can send the invites out yay! Have you sent yours out yet?0 -
We sent ours out in September :rotfl:
But we saved £ by not sending out save the date cards and then sending out invites to the same people - we'd already booked the church and reception by then anyway.
OH and my brother are teachers (as are most of our friends) and me and mum work in schools too so we thought we'd get them out before holidays got booked and we had no-one at the wedding...not that it stopped mum booking her holiday for the week before
On the makeup side though, OH thought that my eyeshadow was too dark, apparently it made my eyes look sunken, 'like a heroin addict' I think was his phrase, so I might have to go for something less brown :rotfl:0 -
Hey Girls, sounds like the planning is all going well for you.
Well I've had a bit of a set back thats worrying me somewhat. Got called into a meeting at work at the end of the week, and to cut a long story short I will either be made redundant or get a 50% paycut  So I genuinely don't know what to do. Fortunately I have an unemployment insurance policy in place that will pay out more per month than the proposed pay cut will. But then obviously I will be unemployed. Which really sucks because I do love my job - however demanding and random it is. So what do I do? Stick with my job that pays £1000 a month less than what I'm used to with the hope that business will pick up in a few months and my usual salary is reinstated. Or do I take redundancy and get paid £1400 a month and try to find another job which is very hard in this climate? Such poocakes.
Anyway, I came clean to H2B that I hadn't saved as much money as I'd hoped to for the honeymoon by now - and on my income now definitely wouldn't be able to pay for the rest of it. We sat down and did a detailed budget and cut a few things here and there for the day and saved £2k which is going towards the honeymoon, and the remainder will be made up between us so that we can pay it off in June.
So one the one hand, I'm relieved that the wedding is unaffected, but on the other hand I don't want to work a full time job that pays 50% less than what it used to.
Any advice?????0 -
Do you have to choose between the redundancy and the paycut?
If so, will your policy pay out for voluntary redundancy (which it will be if you're making the choice) because if it doesn't the 50% paycut is going to be your best option.
What a bummer though0
