I really don't mean to sound like a cow but as my dear old dad said "cheeky buggars" lol.

I really need to get our rings sorted. What ring is everyone's H2B having?

I agree - that is very cheeky of them not to invite you!!

    http://www.365-diamond.com/rangeViewer_paged.asp?metalID=1&categoryID=10&designID=359&caratID=97&colourID=4&clarityID=8&sizeID=3&fingersize=Not+sure&tx=1

this is the most similar ring i can find to H2B's ring. We got it in 6mm, platinum, G VS2 diamonds, with 0.3 carat in total (he was very particular that he wanted a shiny ring with shiny diamonds lol) - I was actually a bit cheeky, you will see if you play with the options on this site that a 4mm band in platinum is £943. He wanted a 6mm so I called the people that did my engagement ring and told them that I had seen a 6mm platinum band with that spec for £850, and could they beat it? So I ended up getting it for £800 :T - typical high street price is apparently £1500-2000. I realise this sounds like a lot but it really is a beautiful ring. I got it in october when I got my retention bonus from my previous contract (which also paid for my dress, photogropher and half of the venue deposit). I did the same with my ring as well, and he paid £1000 for mine which is actually worth double. Again it was in platinum, its 0.79 carat, F colour baguette diamonds, VS clarity in a beautiful eternity ring, exactly what I wanted. Again I know it sounds like a lot and most people spend less, but the platinum markets had gone down significantly in october and we could easily afford them. If we were buying now, it would be a different story as there is so much to pay for in the run up to the wedding and we are saving to pay the balance that is due for the church and venue - 3 more paydays between now and then :j

nichart20 - had a nosey at your H2B's ring - its lovely, I would have thought mine would have gone for something like that, I had no idea he would want diamonds, but when i arrived I really liked it and he cant wait to wear it (sometimes he wears it for half an hour lol)

12 weeks tomorrow for us 8th August brides

Blonde, ooh I like the cake. So are you having 3 tiers? Are you decorating it yourself or does it come decorated? Thats another thing I need to sort out - the cake. Paid the lady £50 deposit months ago and haven't heard a dicky since.

    Thank you :D

Yes 3 tiers, and a friend is making the stand for free :D We thought I should try doing one first so that if I !!!!!!ed it up it was just one cake that was ruined. They do come ready iced, but I've chipped off the piping round the bottom of the cake where it meets the board, as it just looked odd with it still on and the ribbon round it, that's what needs smoothing off properly. Not bad for less than £5 though, bumpy or not!

This is my wedding ring HNDR398.jpg and this is OHs cat_9ct_r.jpg

    85 DAYS!!!!:eek::T:eek:

I cant remember who was going to Thailand in August, but I just received an email from a travel agent over there who prepared me a quote a few months ago I have pasted the relevant bit below. Hopefully it is helpful:

Some simple rules about what to do (and what to avoid) during the months of May to September:
    1) The north (Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai) as well as Isaan area have beautiful lush greenery during the low season and are less dusty to travel so these are perfect areas to explore during the low season.
    2) The dry season in Samui is June, July and August – the perfect time to visit Ko Samui, Ko Pha-Ngan and Ko Tao
    3) Nobody likes to be at a beach when it’s raining so avoid Phuket, Krabi, Phi Phi, Ko Lanta area during the low season
    4) Beach destinations like Ko Samed, Cha-am and Hua Hin are likely to have just a little bit of rain at the end of the day
    5) Trekking is no fun in the rain (unless you have a comfortable hotel waiting for you at the end of the day) so try to avoid overnight trekking in the north

THANK YOU everyone. You're all so fab!

This is the link that was in JayJays post. I believe they are similar but the ones in Primark are knee length (which is perfect) We're looking for Red ones.

I'll be travelling over the weekend, so might get to pop into a few of the northern stores to have a look myself.

Again, thank you all SO much. This really IS going to be an MSE wedding - you'll all have had a hand in it :rotfl:

  • well we got our wedding rings ordered today :) AND I got a new engagement ring to match it :D We was gonna go for a 2 tone ring which we both liked 'online' but when we saw it in the shop it was horrible, so after going round a few shops in our town we found a lovely set of white gold rings for us both - so therefore had to get a white gold engagement ring to match didn't I :D I cant wait to pick them all up in 2 weeks time :)
Got married on 1st August

thank you to everyone on the weddings and anniversary forum xxx
